New Toy

Since I started going to a new area with the boat, it's become apparent that staying out for 3-4 days and camping is the best economical way for me to get loads of shrimp. Otherwise it's back to the harbor every night, then back out to the shrimping grounds, and rinse/repeat. That gets expensive on fuel... so camping it is! However, the area is lousy with pesky, pain in the ass black bears. So I got a new toy...

So yeah... it's not a super duper deluxe tactical got everything including eyeball melting laserbeams shottie. But it is marine grade coating Mossberg 500 Mariner) and was on super duper sale.

Look out blackie bears... don't mess with MY camp next spring!

Gotta be slugs. Anything smaller will just piss off a black bear. They only get up to six or so hundred pounds.

Pics are blocked at work, but congrats. Haven't fired my Remmington 12ga in a long while. There's something about firing it, hearing that shuck-shuck of the pump action, and firing it again that gets me all hot and bothered! And I'm not a gun nut either. Need to get some buckshot for home protection.

Jim, whats the capacity? I bought a Mossy 590 Tactical for on duty and it is 8+1. Our Motor Officers use that same model with the same Marine finish but then have a pistol grip. Beautiful little gun, congratulations on a most excellent purchase!

Nah reload time is too slow, they would get you immediately. You live in AZ, do they even have gun laws there? Just mount a barrett 50 cal on your roof and you will be fine.

I moved back up to NY from AZ not too long ago. The gun laws in AZ are as lax as can be. No permit required for handguns, and you can buy assault rifles and machine guns.
