Key Largo in a Karl Erik freehand.

Well, I joined the ranks of pipe smokers today

Nice pipe - Savinelli makes great smoking pipes. You should get many years of pleasure from it.

    What's in your pipe today?

This afternoon I enjoyed some Orlik Golden Sliced in a Peterson 999 while watching my daughter play in her little pool and then had a bowl of Hal O' the Wynd in a Nachwalter dublin while walking the dogs.

The Last in Line is now First

A metal icon and a huge influence on metal music. He will be missed...

    What's in your pipe today?

Another Carter Hall day today. Several bowls in a variety of bent billiards throughout the day. But I did sneak in a bowl of Haddo's Delight in a Boswell while walking the dogs this evening.

    What's in your pipe today?

Nothing but Carter Hall the last few days. I've been on a burley binge recently and this is one I just can't seem to get enough of lately. Smoked it in a Boswell, a Dunhill, a Savinelli and a no name "made in london" - all are bent billiards except for the Dunhill which is a 1964 tanshell...

    What's in your pipe today?

Agreed! I smoked some Scottish Cake in a Dunhill bent billiard this morning on the way to work . Then enjoyed some G&H Best Brown #2 in a Boswell Freehand on the way home. A good bowl makes the 1-hour+ commute somewhat OK.

    GL Pease blends

Try Kensington, a real sleeper of a blend IMHO. Doesn't get much attention, but it is an absolutely fantastic Balkan/English. I also regularly smoke Union Square, Chelsea Morning, Haddo's Delight, Key Largo and Maltese Falcon. I recently cracked open a tin of Cairo and it's pretty good as well...

Wessex Burley Slices in a Boswell freehand followed by Westminster in my trusty old Parker bulldog.

    What's in your pipe today?

GL Pease Chelsea Morning in a Dunhill Shell Briar Canadian ... first bowl of this blend and it's pretty good. I generally smoke EMP in this pipe so maybe I'm also tasting a ghost of that, but this stuff is very similar to EMP. Only it's a bit fuller.

    What's in your pipe today?

Now that Stonehaven is back in stock in my cellar I've made it a Stonehaven day! First in a Savinelli Linea Piu billiard on the drive home from work and then in a vintage Dr. Grabow apple while walking the dogs. Very good stuff!

Wessex Burley Slice in a Nachwalter Dublin followed by some Haddo's Delight in a MM Diplomat. Both were excellent!

FDA banes sales of flavored cigarettes

While I don't get the appeal of these products, this is just one more step towards making any/all tobacco products illegal. What's next?

    What's in your pipe today?

Wessex Burley Slice in a vintage Kaywoodie Flame Grain billiard on the drive home and I'm gonna fire up some Bob's Chocolate Flake in a Savinelli Club pot in just a few minutes.
