Well I tried it again, reseasoned again and everything and it did the same exact things. I mentioned it to the person who originally inspired me to purchase one because he was having success with his and guess what...his did the same things so he moved on to a coolidor. Im done with the humidor...
I took the bowl out two days ago and checked the hygrometer today. It read 57% rh, I looked at beads in one case and practically all were white. What do you think.. not enough seasoning?
It was a padilla miami either 5 x 50 or 7 x 50. I was having humidity issue last week but I put a small bowl of water in the hmidor and its been @ 65 rh for the last few days so i figured it would be fine. I noticed the wrapper was slightly cracked near the foot before i smoked it.
I usually like these things but damn for the first inch it tasted like I was smoking char...ugh. What gives? I also noticed that when I would inhale I would also get bits of the leaves as well. I got better after the first inch but I was wondering what could cause this.
Well, I added two layers of paitners tape and made sure it adhered to the seal all the way around. But, the results were the say, the hygrometer displayed an rh of 48%. Time for a re season.
Well, I just took a look at the air tight glass container i put my 2 elements and hygrometer and its @ 65 rh. So i know the hygrometer is on point and the elements are fine(never doubted those tho :p) so this leads back to the humidor. Whats next you think? Im tempted to buy another one.
