    Flying Dog

I have had two of the Flying Dog brews, (The Hunter Thompson Imperial Porter and the Flying Dog Pale Ale) and I found them unimpressive as well. The porter was downright HORRIBLE and the Pale Ale was very blah. I am a huge fan of Thompson and wanted to like the beer. I tried on two separate...

    Stella Artois

This is the typical European pilsner. Highly carbonated, low hops and no malt flavor. With the international following this beer has, I'd say it's not the same stuff we get here in the states. I can buy a 12-pk of Newcastle for $3 less and get an extra 9.6 oz of beer!

    favorite mass produced beer

Well, it's either a case of "great minds thinking alike", or a case of "it takes one to know one"! I don't know if Harpoon is considered mass produced (well, it is Boston, Mass produced) but their IPA is my go to beer. It's a fantastic ale.

    Beer Quotes

I found this quote while searching for a place to have a beer while on vacation next week in Hyannis, Mass. "People who drink light "beer" don't like the taste of beer; they just like to pee a lot." Capital Brewing -- Middleton Wisconsin Here's a bunch more. From Archie bunker to Ancient...

Anyone have any info on cigar2u.com?

Here's a thread from Cigar Weekly. Some bad stuff going on at this site. http://forums.cigarweekly.com/viewtopic.php?t=131982

    favorite mass produced beer

My choice would be Newcastle Brown Ale, especially in the summer. Nice flavor and not a lot of carbonation to get you all bloated in hot weather.

    Bad beer news

I don't know if this is such a bad thing for RR and RR drinkers. First of all, it's not like RR was an independent brewery. They were owned by InBev-Labatt since 1987. Labatt is one of Canada's biggest breweries. Secondly, I think A-B has done well with some of the breweries it has purchased or...

    Fin du Monde

The tragedy of this is that there are 42 posts on the tasteless swill known as Budwiser Select and this will be the 5th on one of the best beers in North America! More for us I guess!

    Who'll stop the rain

Luckily enough, I haven't been inconvenienced with any flooding, water damage etc., but this just sucks. Everybody at work, art home on the road, and in stores seems groggy and miserable.

    New England Mojito Herf

That picture sealed it. I'm in! Great idea for the dog days of August.

    Fin du Monde

Unbelieveable stuff! Fin du Monde and Terrible are by far my favorites. Maudite is also pretty good. I still have yet to try Tres Pistoles which I heard is great. One thing about these beers is that you want to drink them out of a tulip glass. A wine glass in a pinch will work, but a pint...

    Bangor, Maine

I was in Freeport last year and the woman at the smoke shop said the state is almost 100% smoke-free, even smoke shops. There was one cigar bar in Portland that was grandfathered in and that's all I'm aware of. That's a long haul from Bangor!

    Curb your enthusiasm

Larry David is the co-creator of Seinfeld. The George Costanza character is loosely based on him. If you are just starting to watch it, don't stop! It gets funnier and funnier. Some episodes are gut-busting funny. One of my favorite episodes is "Krazee-Eyez Killa" where Larry becomes...

Vendor Aged Or Age Them Yourself?

I have to rely on buying aged stock because I have no will power to age them myself.

    Pulled the trigger

That's great Josh! You sounded a little hesitant on Monday, I'm glad you came to your senses! LOL! The toughest part is the waiting! Bob is definitely the type of guy anyone would want to do business with. Enjoy!

    Cigar Dinner in Hartford

What a great evening! I arrived at greatful1's house shortly before 5:00 and saw that I was already behind on my smoking. The host immediately gave me a PSP2 to smoke. Very generous, and what an amazing smoke. Finally got to put faces to the names of CoventryCat86, smokelaw1, rob300c and the...

    Perfect setting for smoking

One night I had last August really sticks out in my mind. - Out on the patio with a Led Zeppelin CD in the boom box. - 80 degrees but not humid. - Great cigar accompanied by a great Scotch. - Bats diving down to play with the 2nd hand smoke. - Katydids seeming to sing with the drum beat.
