These three will prob sit a while. If it came down to it I'd prob sell them at a Bonham's auction and buy enough Mac 25 (my fav) to last me for rest of my life
To be honest I never have even smoked a Trinidad before but on a recommendation I picked up a box of the short LE robustos and I really like these. Quite a bit of flavor and pretty smooth for such a short stick. Still might let them sit for a bit more but I think I'm a fan. Anyone else? Don't...
That 64 year was the one off 'Cire Perdue' and actually went for auction in NY in Jan, I was there, and went for $460k! being very close with the Mac crew I was very fortunate to taste it from a special sampler they had. Next Lalique will be around a 400 unit production world wide as the...
Have a box of the 56 and 54 and love them both. They seem to be much more expensive than when they first came out but for a "one in a while" smoke they are amazing and worth every penny IMHO.
Yes, took another year to hunt down the 50 yr and actually had to have it sent from Canada. Well here are all three in all their glory and of course last week I got the details of the next Lalique IV 60 yr being announced in Sept ... the hunt goes on.
WOW! havn't been on CP in a bit and I recently placed an order with a site I had been using for years and got back a order cancelation email bellow:
"Due to shipping issues, at the moment we have stopped shipments of
everything to the US except, bespoke cigars, non cuban cigars,
humidors and...
I actually already posted on this but again I will say I prefer tubos over boxes. It seems as if there is a bit more QC in selecting the tubo cigars. And of course it makes them great for carrying and gifting. Siglo VI are my favorite and all I buy are the tubos.
I ordered it at the NY shop but it was made by this mid-west leather smith. They were just showcasing his product and obviously marking it up. The case was sent to me several weeks later to my specs. I'm pretty sure this craftsman is still in business but Davidoff is just no longer selling his...
It's a long shot but I recently lost a beautiful custom 3 finger leather cigar case I bought from the NY Davidoff store in the Time Warner Building 5 years ago. These cases were custom made to order by a leather craftsman located in the mid-west I believe and had amazing detail. I had mine made...
They are both different experiences but now having both and it was a choice of the desert island scenario I'd take the Siglos, but back to reality I can enjoy both :)
Smoked the crippled stick last night and it was a great smoke. Foot cracks are really a non issue unless they start to get worse. 56 was very smooth and delivered a nice range of flavor through out the smoke. I have yet to have a 52 but I enjoyed the 56 just as much as my 54s... maybe a little...
