Born and raised (for the most part) in Colorado. A lot of experience driving on snow covered roads. It's nothing like driving on ice, and snow covered ice is even worse. It was a big eye opener for me when I moved to locations more prone to ice-up. Some of the worst drivers on ice are those people who come from locations that get a lot of snow, but little ice. They get overconfident from driving on packed snow, and it is completely different. It's shameful how many of those drivers locked up at the first sign of slippage. I want to believe that we were all taught better, but I guess nothing teaches like experience.
Hope no body got hurt.
