Tomorrow I deploy for 2 months. I'll send posts from the different port calls. Also, anyone know anything about Tortola? ;)

Take care of yourself Emo. Just think this way, your cigars at home will get an additional two months of aging while you're gone! ;)

Stay safe.

Yuppers. I smoke a lot more cheap cigars underway than when I am at home. I never know when I will have to ditch the cigar due to operations. Plus foreign ports allow me to sample cigars that I can't get in Key West.
I'll be checking in every coupla days as long as the satellite connection is stable. Later guys.

Best of luck bro - stay safe and thanks for your commitment!

Have fun (t :D hat's possible, I hope?) on your tour of duty.

Tortola is the largest of the British Virgin Islands, and looks very attractive on the web page I found with a Netscape search. Plenty of hiking, horseback riding, good restaurants, mountains, beaches, etc. etc.

Hmmm, a british possession..... Can the military buy in duty-free shops? Who knows what you might find..... :D

Use to go there every New Years. A must do- go to a restaurant called the Jolly Rodger (smugglers cove I think) and order a pizza! They have a whole wheat crust that is awesome  Also, in Roadtown (that's probably where you'll dock) there are tons of cool shops. The best one for souvenirs is Sunny Carib or Spicy Carib ask a "belonger" (that's what the locals call themselves). Friendliest people on earth :) . If your looking for a bar you'll need to go to the "Bomba Shack". Heck, you need to go to the "Bomba Shack" regardless. Just remember, it's a shack owned by Bomba ;) .

How many days do you plan to stay on Tortola? If it's two or more I'll have my wife tell you more of what there is to do. She just about grew-up on the island.
