Big Job Interview Tomorrow.

So guys, I've got a really big Job Interview tomorrow. I feel its one of those jobs that doesn't come along very often. Its with a company that just expanded and opened a brand new manufacturing facility here. The company is Hayward Pool Products and the position is for their Senior CAD Designer. Since I've been out of college, it seems like all the experience I've gained has been for the purpose of this position. Seriously, everything that they required for the position is like a mirror image of my resume. I'm just very excited about it, and I really hope it works out for me. I know that my enthusiasm will show, if anything. Also, I have to interview with 4 different people.

Anyone want to share some advice???

Now to make the day even sweeter, when I'm done with the interview, I get to go pick up my dog from doing 10 days of hard time. (he nipped a neighbor last week, another story)

Now the only question is what do I want to smoke tomorrow night???

Just be yourself and try to relax. Job interviews can be very stressful.
 
Good luck on the interview. Awesome company. I have their equipment on my pool and they work great. Customer service is top notch as well. Maybe down the road we can trade cigars for pool filters (We have a big dog that loves swimming) :D
 
...a suit and a tie show that you take the interview seriously, even if it's a little overdressed for the office envitonment.

If you don't know where the office is....get in the car and find it today. Last thing you want to do is show up 10 mins late and completely stressed out because you got lost / traffic sucked.

Take a breath and think before you answer their quesitons. Be confidant and look 'em in the eye. Smile.

Maybe most important for a technical position - if there's something you don't know, do not bull s#!t them. I have interviewed folks who gave me the "I don't know XXX software, but I do have a lot of experience with YYY. It's very similar and I'd sure like the chance to learn XXX." They got the job.... :cool:

I think you'll do fine...your background sounds like you are exactly what they are looking for.

Most of these interviews are performed to see what kind of person you are...to see if you'd get along with the people you'll be working with. But of course, also to see if you're capable of the job.

Smoke an Anejo or Padron 1964...and then when you get the job, splurge even more!
 
if you ever move to dallas, look me up. im always in desperate need of CAD designers.

Good luck with the interview. They have seen your resume, and know you have the skills. Now they want to check out your personality.

Good Luck HB be confident in yourself and the knowledge you posses & you'll do just fine. Just make sure you express yourself clearly & display the enthusiasm that you have for this work Relax smoke something (not a joint :laugh: ) & take it home!

Do some quick research on Six Sigma6-Sigma. It is a corporate management philosophy that is gaining some ground lately. Find everything you can on your potential employer, what he makes, and who he sells it to. Google search the folks who will be interviewing you.

Be confident in yourself, that you are a good fit for the job. Answer questions truthfully but don't be too candid. Be prepared for the asshat questions, "So, why do you want to work here", "What are your strengths", "What are your weaknesses", and my favorite, "tell us about yourself".

Be prepared to interview them. As a hiring manager, it always impresses me when a candidate asks intelligent questions about the job environment. I'm referring to questions about equipment, what challenges the job poses, what difference you can make for the company. Don't ask the selfish questions until they make an offer.

If they're worth a shit, the last question is the toughest of all: how much money you want? Think that one out and answer based on what you've learned in the interview. Good luck.
