Frank, the scumbag list is just one of many tools at the internet cigar trader's disposal. We've learned that it's not the end-all and be-all, but simply a list of people who've dong wrong at some point in their lives.
What about the list of everyone that's ever been pulled over for speeding? I cursed myself when I went on that list, but moved on. Don't get personal with The Master, any more than you would get personal with the cop who pulled you over. He's just doing his job.
If you post up that you want to organize a box split, and someone mentions that you're on the list, but then a bunch of vets/FOGs step in and vouch for you or even participate, which input do you think will be regarded more highly?
No one holds the key to your future, Frank, but you and you alone.
As for me, like I said, I would never hesitate to engage in any kind of transaction with you, monetary or otherwise, and it's not just because I know where you live! It's because I know you're a fundamentally honest and just person.
This has been a learning experience for me, and I think the second sentence of my post sums it up.

cohibasurfer, my intention was never to impugn your character; it was only to clarify your position. Could I have done that in a more concise manner, yes I could have. I apologize if you feel I was going after you, it was not my intention to do so.
In regards to my “rest my case” phrase let me show you my thinking.
I have seen guys like HD for over 8 years. Instead of humbly taking his medicine and keeping quiet, he goes on the attack and shoots the guy who is doing his job, namely me.
He starts with the excuses, then he goes to the “the internet isn't as important as my real life"
Then he goes with this line which in my opinion says it all about his lack of character and lack of remorse. “If a friendship is lost over a handful of cigars then they were not a true friend to begin with."
Obviously from this statement he feels people have a lot of nerve making a big deal about him being 3 months late on a handful of cigars. A true friend would never make them wait that long, only people who don't give a crap about you make you wait that long.
It is obvious there are people here willing to let HD100 slide. It is my job as one of the people charged with keeping the list to look at the facts objectively as I can and make decisions based on that.
My opinion is this. HD100 is the type of person who feels his time is way more important than yours, and that people who question his behavior were never true friends after all.
He has now taken to pming me asking for my home address so he can send me something. It is obvious he is quite angry with me and wants to get back at me blaming me for his down fall.
I ask you is this the behavior of a true BOTL?

RicMac's sticks were due to be sent out no later than 4/25/05.
Psyktek's sticks were due to be sent out no later than 5/25/05.
Big100HD sent out the past due sticks around 9/28/05...4 and 5 months late, with no communication in 4+ months. Frank has been around the boards long enough to know what was expected of him on his obligations, but he chose to procrastinate even after having been reminded of his oversight.
How many times did Frank open his humidor(s) to choose a cigar for his personal consumption, knowing he had these past due obligations? Frank shouldn't be surprised he made the list.

1st- I have a problem with an issue that started and belongs on another board being brought over to this one.
2nd- If Frank didn't care about his reputation/standing, he would have simply vanished from sight, or gotten abusive (as we've seen others do on here).
3rd- Neither I nor anyone else has any idea of what's been going on in Frank's life, but I know I've been late with mailings when things got complicated in my life. Sometimes choosing, packing and mailing a handful of cigars just doesn't even enter your day-to-day awareness.
Personally, I never expected to see the cigars in question, and that was fine with me. Life's too short to sweat something minor like that. It wasn't like Frank had won before and was now stiffing other folks.

Well let me say after re-reading alot of Pm's and posts. I concede my postition on Frank being on the list. I just have a hard time with the word scumbag. To me that is someone that has burnt people (aka as ripped people off). His failure to keep his word on sending his end in a timely manner should have penalty. If it's the scumbag list, because there is no SLACKER list, then so be it.
3M, Sam, Lee, Ric and the rest of the members here that I truely respect (and some off you that called yourself Frank's BoTL). I just want to know, and I know it shouldn't be necessary, how many of you that knew Frank was swirling in the drain, made consistant efforts to snap him back to reality before it was to late. I'm not saying someone didn't, I'm asking for my personal knowledge of this situation. I myself didn't know anything about this until I posted looking for him. And believe me I was stunned! And all it took was a quick PM to discuss what was happening, and the packages were out. I did state that he was not only letting himself down, but me as well, if he didn't cover his end like "yesterday".
There are several people on this board that I would consider my BoTL. Not because of what you smoke. Not because of what you do for a living. Not because of what you type on the screen,your avatar, bra size.. what have you. Because, over time we have become friends. And friends don't desert one another.
I agree Franks claim of being to busy with work and such is NOT good enough. I call Bullsh!t on that too. Been there done that. You MAKE time. Now without mentioning any names, this happened to me with a member. And with the help of some "FRIENDS". The problem was solved and no scumbag list was needed. I guess what I'm trying to say with all this long winded post is... The next time one of our own is F*cking up. I would like to see some effort trying to save them, instead of sitting back and watching them jump. Frank had been around for a good long time. He wasn't some flash in the pan. He was worth saving in my eyes.

Yeah, I have to agree with Kirk....lots of folks emailed Frank about this. It only got resolved when this thread was started and I made a remark about the stuff that was owed, only because he was seen on here.
There were numerous attempts made, so what's done is done as far as the list goes.
Frank and I have exchanged pm's, which I will keep private. But, I still think that he avoided his obligations. He will have to rebuild his reputation with a few of us.
End of story. If that bothers some people, deal with it.
