Livin' the retired life!
Well, crud. My bestest bud, my beer drinking, game playin', fish catchin', dog wrasslin', moose and caribou huntin', 4-wheelin', pizza gobblin', pissing off the wife best friend is in Iraq for a year.
He used to live across the street, but since was re-assigned to New Jersey (again, the poor bastard!). Now he's a LtCol. in the Air Force, and assigned to the Multi-National Forces Iraq, within the Strategy, Plans, and Assessment Directorate office, whatever the hell that means. Something about taking over command of a team, either Basing, Force Structure, and traditional War Plans.
Now the one thing I have not corrupted him with (YET) is cigar smoking. HOWEVER, he whines that the only time he gets to take a break is when the other officers with him go out for a cigar break. So he asked me to send off a care package (I had already offered, trying to get him hooked!) so that he can offer them a cigar and therefore everyone gets a break!
So today I sent off 3x OpusX xXx, 3x Anejo #77, 3x Hemi Maddie, and 3x Padron '64. Hopefully that will impress the guys he works for (All brass of some type or nationality) I even wrote out what they were, and what to expect, so that he looks good!
Brickhouse, Tasman, high-n-tight and anyone else there- first, God Bless ya! and second, if you run into a LtCol. Mitchell Monroe, say Jim in Alaska sends his regards as you bitch slap him!
If anyone would want to donate for his 'smoke breaks' PM me and we'll work it out.
here's to the men and women in uniform!
