Cigars and Food

I have found that sushi goes well with cigars, however I try never to eat while smoking.
I'm intrigued! What sushi do you like with your cigars? And do you drink sake along with it? If so, hot or cold?

Norimaki

Sushi rice and seafood, etc. This is what I normal get. No sake for me as I do not drink alcohol. However a nice hat tea, with a couple raw sugars is fine.

Nigiri

Small rice balls with fish, etc. on top. I like the way the raw fish brings out the flavor of the cigar. Becouse Sushi is room temp there is no rush to eat it

Eating is one of the great pleasures in my life. I just can't see mixing it with another great pleasure without Costanza-like effects.

I did eat a hot dog with a cigar at a Cincinnati Reds game when I was 17 or 18. That went OK, I guess.

I think I'll stick to the cigar/drink combos and pass on the eating while smoking. Good luck in finding a great combo! :)

Mmmmm.

Today's meal, drink, smoke extravaganza was grilled marinated rib-end steak with alfredo pasta and spinach in cream sauces, Yuengling Black & Tan, and La Gloria Cubana Serie R #5 natural.

The cigar is a powerhouse of pepper and piercing tobacco notes. The smoke volume was super-full and chewy. This ass-kicker of a cigar trio-ed well with the malty B&T, and the prominent smokiness of the beef. It had to be assertive and full-flavored to balance the richness of the pasta and spinach and it was, in spades. After the food was gone, the Yuengling kept Sr. Perez-Carillo's creation in good company down to a nub that was too short to burn. Deeeeeelish!

Yet another very satisfying front porch meal today. :D
