CP's "Cigar 101" Newbie Pass 5

Nope, it is the box that FedEx repackaged them in. I don't really care that much, but I didn't want it to happen to any other BOTL's in the pass either. There is definitely space to cut it down, but like I said, I just didn't have time today, or this weekend.

Dave, that same box only cost me $11.xx at my local USPS for priority mail with DC. Something fishy there.

hey, you're not mailing that from Canada are ya? that sounds like a price that CanPost would ding for a pass shipment...

The T110 was $225 a box so $9 a stick. Of course a number of folks paid a little more for shipping/fees, I know I did ($240ish), so we could bump it up to around $10 a stick. It definitely has rarity as I'm sure all the boxes are now sold, so none available for purchase. But, the Anejo 49 has MSRP $10.50, and as with the T110, many pay above this amount if you include shipping/fees.

Pope Quiz!
Is the T110 more rare than the Anejo? If so, would it be enough to reach the slightly higer price of the Anejo? If yes, what factors make the T110 more rare and/or the Anejo less?

You have five minutes to complet the quiz. :D

A thought on this: I think it is worth taking into consideration what makes something 'rare'. Anejos have a significant annual production size but are scarce because of desirability. Are the t110 scarce because they were MADE to be scarce or because they are so desirable they can't be had? If I produce 50 gurkhas in a given release does it make it more rare than something like, say, a Dunhill estupendos or Davi Dom P (or a standard Opus robo) which were produced in much greater volume? I wouldn't worry about it in a 'seasoned pass' but since the point here is to learn the skills for playing in er... 'upper level' passes it might be worth considering. Per the norm, ybdmv and I don't know shit about shit. Carry on.

I have not had trouble finding Anejo's, and have a few right now. The T110 was a one of a kind for me, and I do recall them being in high demand not too long ago. Is it possible the demand has dropped as the stock has dried up? Has demand dropped?

Of course I don't mind if we drop the Anejo / T110 P/T. My other hard to finds are priced too high to make it, or I'd offer something else up.

I am going to offer up some more P/T's, just because it's my first pass and I feel like a kid at the candy store. ???

She said that the distance of shipment comes into consideration as well. Basically some post offices are probably more "by the book" than others. I had a bad feeling when she busted out the tape measure. I was thinking, "WTF is that for?" :p

Hmmm.... That very well could be Dave. The feller at my PO is a friend of the family so maybe he cut me a break?

I went to Cigarcyclopedia and got the above straight from there with the exception of the Firecracker, which I've only seen for $100 per box. Is there a different price for them somewhere? I think the Anejo/T110 trade is good.

Sorry about the box issue. When the lady on the FedEx store said she was going to repackage the box I didn't think she meant putting it in a bigger box.

I ran those off about a week ago. The #67 La Aurora Perferidos corojo #2 $7.56 -- $9.08 was a question to me. I calculated it to $9.07 at that time, but when it was put into the pass it was listed for $7.56. So I figured I was off somehow.

I am goig to be busy over the nexy fgew days, so forgive me if we are still discussing Rob's P/T's, but I thought to keep it moving I would post mine.

T El Rey del Mundo Flor de Llaneza - $5.38 P- AVO No. 3 Nat $5.63
T Tat El Triunfador - $9.00 P- Oliva Master Blend I Church $9.00
T- LFD Double Pres $7.19 P- La Aurora Perferidos Corojo #2 $7.56
A HUGE big thanks to Brother Greg.

Looks like there's a larger difference between the short story and the Firecracker (which has also been posted @$5.00 in this pass). I'll gladly swap that cracker out for a Gran Habano 3 Siglos Robusto($5.14).

I swear I used Cigarcyclopedia.

If no objections, we can leave the Firecracker for the short story since it seems such a wanted stick. Interesting on that LA Pref, wonder if it was just an error.

Hope everyone had a great Halloween! I had hoped the timing would have been better, however, it looks like the pass box might arrive when I am on vacation this month. So, to keep things going, I am putting my potential P/T's and sending the Puts to Charles (Crquarto) for placing in the pass. I'll get my Takes from him later. I have permission from both Greg and Charles to go ahead on this to alleviate the box being held up on my account. Plus it may save Mike from some exhorbitant fees if the box is the size I think it is

Well, once Dave's T/P's get approved, Shant and I will post up ours. Since Shant (LA Kings Fan) lives right down the street from me, we will be doing ours at the same time. Dave, sounds good bud.

I went back and just realized how slack I've gotten on updating the info! Sorry all!

I'm approving all but the LA Barrel aged and Oliva G trade due to the Oliva not reaching. I know it's not a lot, however one under put is already being allowed (Firecracker) so that one is a no go. Let me know if you want to adjust that one.

Due to unfortunate circumstances, Jimmy (JimmyHaze) is having to bow out of the pass. So Charles, you will ship directly to Roger (qballizhere).

I'll get all the info updated later this evening (I've run out of time this morning).

Dave, with this being a newbie pass and all, I think that Johnny-O should remain in your stash. I believe there was a discussion in the previous newbie pass about like for like (NC for NC, ISOM for ISOM). While we would all love to snag that Johnny-O from the pass, putting in an ISOM in a newbie pass shouldn't be done
One man's opinion.
