Tone, no problemo. It was nice reading about the good time you guys had. Wish I'd have been near the City, it sounds like you guys had a great time.
I rec'd my box and a half (one split with a friend) in the mail last week and fired one up Wednesday evening while driving to a consulting gig.
The one I pulled had a bit of a loose draw that detracted a bit from the experience but I enjoyed the cigar just the same.
Overall, I liked it. Burned straight, no relights needed, and loads of flavor after a very sour first 3/4 inch. I think flavor-wise I agree that it is better than the 2007 LE and the 2005 LE. I would not put it up on par with the 2003 PE, or either of the 100th anniversary smokes.
Worth the money? Well, like you said, YMMV. For me, I hold these to a very very high standard because of the cost. For what the Davidoff product costs I want every smoke to be outstanding. This one wasn't to me. The 2003 PE was outsatnding, the 100th anniversary cigars were better than outstanding. This one was very good, but in MY world, not 15 bucks very good. Don't get me wrong though, I liked it and I'm not looking to get rid of them, I just won't buy any more. If I had another 150 bucks in my hand to buy Davidoffs, I'd probably hold the money and see what they come up with next year.
