EDIT Button ?

10 minute timeout. After your initial post, you only have 10 minutes to edit it. There really shouldn't be any reason to have to edit a post more than 10 minutes later... ;)

This rule applies to all members, not just Bk.

Thanks for the clarification Rod.
Can an exception be made for Passes?
It would be nice to update puts/takes.

I wonder if Rod could make exceptions for guys who are running GBs or Passes

I know it seems like a pain in the ass but thanks to a select few.... we all pay the price.

Hey, good point. This will cause the buy/pass threads to explode with volume.

This will really make things dificult for those of us running passes.

Being that this site is focused around trading, it is important to edit some posts. I'm working on a resolution for this.

I've turned back on the edit feature. No sense in making passes/buys more difficult. Once we find a resolution to this, the edit button will only be available 10 minutes after the iniital post. For now, it's back on.

And for those of you (like me) who edit to change bad spelling...

Does the Firefox one work with the newest version of FF.... it wasn't compatible a month ago.....

I just drop everything into a word doc and check the spelling before I post it. :D

Thank you very much Rod! Perhaps some of the folks here who have some experience with running boards like this can get together and figure out a way to get rid of the edit feature selectively. If I knew anything more than how to post a picture or hit the "add reply" button I'd be all for helping!

No Idea BK since I use Seamonkey, there is a new version up on the site though.

Also the firefox google toolbar also has a spell check.

I have done that a few times myself.

Is there a way to add in a spell check when you post?

If you are using Internet Explorer the first link I posted is for you.

Also the google toolbar can check your spelling for both firefox and IE.

I think the 10 minute rule on editing is very good. I feel people should be accountable for what they post.

I'm sure Rod will figure a way to allow editing for your passes and group buys. He seems to be very computer savy.

By the way, what is the detriment for not allowing editing on passes? I have seen how they work at CF. The threads get long but other than that what is the problem?

There is always a way of working within the given rules but the current environment of allowing the edit feature keeps the pass threads much easier to read and follow. I've followed a couple on CF and I've been involved with organizing offlines on the wineboards where the edit feature isn't allowed. Possible, doable just not as convenient as it is with the edit feature.

Check out the iPass Blues Pass that I'm currently hosting, I'm running two list in that pass and the edit feature makes it very convenient for the host.
