Favorite rock bands. ( any genre of rock)

Bruce Springsteen
Garth Brooks
John Mellencamp
Led Zepplin
The Eagles
Zack Brown Band
CCR
Guns N Roses
Billy Idol
Toby Keith

Jethro Tull
I'm a big fan of Ian's stuff, too. When I first heard JT it was so different I didn't know what I was hearing. I quickly grew to appreciate that same originality, though.

John Fogerty is my all time favorite rock performer and composer. From the old CCR stuff through the incredibly raw riffs of Blue Moon Swamp.

Soundgarden
Tool
Black Sabbath
Alice In Chains
Black Label Society
AC/DC
Faith No More
Corrosion of Conformity
Social Distortion
Led Zep
Godsmack

Live at Leeds is a great album, I wouldn't say it's underrated as much as unknown. Everyone who has it loves it, the problem is a lot of Who fans have never heard it. I've dealt with dozens who bought it immediately after I played it for them.

Many but not all"
Allman Bros.
Outlaws

Velvet Underground
The Replacements
The Clash

not a band but:
the Man in black, Jonny Cash

You need to check out Black Country Communion with Joe Bonamassa (perhaps the greatest yet least known blues guitarist since Slow Hand), Glenn Hughes (of Deep Purple and Black Sabbath), Jason Bonham (Johns son), and Derek Sherinian (Dream theater keyboardist)

I'd say my favorite overall would have to be Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds (Like the "Live at Radio City" blu-ray). I don't know what it is, but when I listen to that music I can actually feel it, like in my gut or something.

Outside of that,

Dave Matthews Band
Jack Johnson
John Mayer (after "Body is a Wonderland")
String Cheese Incident
Widespread Panic
Days of the New/Tantric
Alice in Chains (esp. the "Unplugged" album)
Tool

Along with several others. Both new and old, these are just the ones I listen to most.

wow, that's the 1st time I've seen a guy with a line up like this ???

My soon to be wife really digs Jack Johnson

I think my favorite band is Flogging Molly. Just saw them front row in Luxembourg on Saturday night. It's a religious experience...

Slash from Guns N' Roses/VR/Solo is the reason I ever picked up a guitar. Probably the only celebrity who I would turn into a blubbering idiot in front of.

-Metallica
-GNR
-Volbeat
-Avenged Sevenfold
-BLS/Zakk Wylde (though I pretty much gave up on him after "Hellride")
-Alter Bridge/Creed (I like Mark Tremonti)
-Foo Fighters
-Zeppelin, of course!
-Motorhead
-Anything Paul Gilbert
-Social D

Outside the rock/metal genre:

-Johnny Cash, first and foremost
-Willie!
-BB King
-Bocephus
-Waylon
-Tom Petty
-Tom Waits
-SRV
-Status Quo
-Merle Haggard
-Lynyrd Skynyrd
-Leonard Cohen

There's a million more, but that's what gets the most play on my iPod. I've also found myself in a rockabilly band, somehow, so I've been listening to a lot of old country and more contemporary rockabilly/psychobilly stuff.

You know, I like Joe Bonamassa and Dream Theater, but I just can't really get into BCC. I've tried. Mama, I've tried... It just doesn't make itself want to play a lot for me. Same with Chickenfoot. I *should* really like it, but I just don't.
