I'm a territory manager for a cardiology diagnostics service company...I've been trying to see this one particular doctor for the last 2 years. He will never call me back and his staff now knows not to let me see him (I'm persistent
).
About 2 years ago I was told that he was a member at a particular cigar club and he had a loccker "Full of Opus X", so the owner says. I remembered that, this morning, as I was about to hit the streets and brought along with me an Opus X #5. Nothing to big or fancy (I was opting to go with the "A"). So as I walked in the office door, there was a new girl behind the desk (Always a nice surprise!) and she said that the doctor was not in yet but would be at about 2pm. So I whipped out the #5 and asked for a piece of tape, I taped my business card to the Opus (cello still on) and gave it to the new girl to hand to the MD. She gave me a weird look and proceeded to put it on his desk.
When I went back to the office at 2pm he was still not in (too many procedures?). So I left to go home. As I walked in the door to my home my cell phone rang with a local number on it. The voice on the other end said "This is Dr. Moran and thank you so much for the cigar. Wow, what a great way to get in the door!" I told him what I do and he invited me to his cigar club to talk business!
