T: Camacho 11/18 P: Cojonu 2003 Good!

T: BGM P: Punch Churchill (99) Not so good. Prices are too far off, and that's not to mention how cheaply Punch Churchills from 99-01 can be had.

T: RA Gonzalez Slenderella P: Bolivar Beli Fino (TEB JUN08) Good!

T: Cohiba Piramide P: Montecristo "A" (01) Not so good. Same reason as the BGM/ Punch

All are approved Los. If you feel the need to add another in the next couple days, feel free! Also, upon receiving, please let me know what envelope you're going to grab.

T: Cohiba Piramide P: Montecristo "A" (01)

ohhh. This one looks very nice. I like all of them. Have you had any 01 A's?

The Montecristo 'A's from this era can be hit or miss. I've had a couple and one was great the other bland as hell. Sort of the rule of thumb for the cigars from this time period. I've had some cigars that were among the best I've ever had and some that flat out sucked.
My advice is there's a reason they are still around and a reason why they are so cheap!

Alright guys, a little update. We are now more than a third of the way through with the pass. We had a little mix-up in the numbering with Jeremy's puts, but since he couldn't see the pass thread, it's no biggy. Los and I got it worked out, so everything is arranged and in good order. (Don't know why David didn't catch it though :p ).

On a poker note, I tried to make a return to the poker ring last week...didn't work out so well. Flopped a set of aces against a jackass that flopped the wheel with 3, 5 off-suit. He called a pre-flop raise of $17 in a $1-$2 game with only 2 other players in the hand. That sent me bust on my first buy-in. Same guy pulled the same stuff against me later. He flopped bottom pair (which was 3's) and had a Jack kicker, and I flopped top-top on a non-scary board with AK. He called my pre-flop raise, I re-raised him on the flop, he checked and I bet the turn, then he checks and re-raises on the river when he sucks out with his two pair. This was the guy that runs the house game, so I was a little perturbed that he was intentionally trying to suck out on his players. Regardless, just goes to reinforce my theories about not playing at $1-$2 tables anymore.

Yes, these are bad beats. However you want this guy to be calling without odds. The set of aces hand, okay, you're going to go broke, and that's just the way it is.

The AK hand, I think it's fine, assuming you made him pay for his draw and did NOT pay off his river raise (you had only one pair, after all). It's great he's willing to call such big bets with garbage.

As for changing your table stakes, you will find people who play this way everywhere. You should be able to crush the lower stakes tables, you just need to adjust your play appropriately. Value bet the hell out of your made hands, and don't pay off the donks when they hit.

You played 1 2 limit? or No Limit

I only play No Limit. Typically, I'm a $2-$5 player, I only play $1-$2 for recreation when I don't feel like taking a trip to the Casino. There aren't any card-rooms in town that run a $2-$5, so It's a weekend trip when I make it.

Absolutely, I want donks like this in the game. My only point was that after my HUGE bad beats it December, this was just one of maybe 2 or 3 times I've played in a game with a couple thousand on the table. It was just disheartening that this guy (who is profiting off the rake) was intentionally busting his players (it's bad for business). And on nights that the donks are catching cards and literally getting run over by the deck, it's hard to fade anything since they call no matter what. Being a player that only plays marginal pre-flop hands when I get the pot-odds, and being one that makes pot-odds pre-flop that are not in favor of marginal hands, it was just a bad night.

It's not so much a change of table stakes, since I play both stakes regularly, just play $2-$5 a lot more. There will always be the donkey at the table, but you see less marginal hands and typically better and more regular players at the $2-$5 tables. At least, that's the standard down in this area. With the AK, I knew where I was at the whole hand. Even though I only had one pair, I've been playing against this other player for a few years now, and have pretty solid knowledge of his style and where he's at in a hand based on his betting patterns. He just got lucky a few times is all, but based off of his not so aggressive river re-raises and the sizes of the pot, I had no choice but to call the bets.

This are my preliminary P/T's. Let me know how they fair:
