My kids have all sent cards and called me on the phone to wish me a happy Father's day. They're all staying home with their kids.:thumbs: It's going to be a great day, just the wife and I, some fried seafood from Johnson's, Scotch, cigars and Baseball.:)

Got a call this AM from my son the LCpL in the USMC, who is celebrating his first father's day. Hmm....that makes me a....really awesome dad...!!...:p

Day late and a dollar short, but I wasn't around yesterday...

Those are great pictures, Backslide. She's adorable.

I took my oldest daughter to an Eagles concert last night, and she really enjoyed herself. She's only ten, so I didn't know if she would like it or be bored, but she was up and dancing and clapping and really getting into it. That's my girl! We don't get to spend a whole lot of one-on-one time together, so it was nice to do something a bit out of the ordinary with her. It was a great day. My youngest is napping here right next to me now. I love being a dad.

I'm not big on Hallmark Holidays, but Father's Day always helps me understand how much it means for my girls to have me in their lives, because I grew up with just my mother. They don't fully grasp that yet, however one day I'm sure they will understand.

Happy belated Father's Day to you all.
 
I have to say it was great to read the post from Doc, Gary, and Tom. You know you did alright when your children call or come back to visit and it all goes full circle.

Speaking of full circle....My children wife and I went to my mom and dads yesterday to have a cookout with the extended family. I think it's great that my children (who are old enough that they will always remember) get to have a relationship with their Great Grandfather. He was our big honoree for the day.
