As you may have seen from my recent post, I just had a son Nov. 5th (a little early at 34 weeks and in the NICU), but today he got his endotracheal (breathing) tube out and made for a very very happy day.
However, yesterday and the day before were, for the most part, very worrisome for all the family. It was a fairly sad day with my son not making improvements and they wanted to try an additional dose of surfactant (which carries some risk) to improve his breathing. I think being a doctor makes it even worse for me because I know all the bad things that can happen and I'm helpless in regards to my new son.
However, yesterday evening I came home find a very nice surprise (cigar bomb) in my mailbox from NorCalCigarLover. It really helped to lift my day. Just wanted to publicly say thank you.
Both you and Swissy were very generous and gave me a really nice welcome to the board. Especially in the past few days it has been something extra nice during a tough time and I really do appreciate it. Hopefully, my son will be out of the ICU in a week and then I can really enjoy the new smokes!
Thank you,
Mark
