I also asked her which was worse for me- a cigar every now and then or all the jet exhaust I have been sucking in for the last 12 years. I think that hit the mark in her reasoning.

Bilder, I don't think it's the jet exhaust you have to worry about. I worry more about the carcinigins (sp?) that we handle on a consistent basis. It is the things like MEK, Methal Ethal Ketone, that worry me. There is nothing like having SkyDrol run down your arm into your armpit to make you think twice about the business.

Skydrol is nasty stuff! I hate it.
One of the mechanics failed to wash his hands after messing with it and went to take a leak. I guess that tingly feeling he got was not one of pleasure. :0 The mantra around here now is "Don't be like Wayne!".
You are right about the chemicals. Some pretty nasty stuff we deal with on a regular basis.

We like to call that "Great Balls of Fire!"
I read this thread yesterday and gave it some thought. Here is my advice, worth every penny you pay for it:
I would not, personally, hide cigar smoking. Hiding things often does more damage than the actual act. Be you, be the man she fell in love with. It is much more tiring in the long run to keep oneself hidden.
Secrecy does more damage to a bond than cigar smoking. Good luck.
...
Funny side note - I've been really stressed out at work, and getting ready to take the CPA exam. Last night, she actually told me that I should have a cigar to relax. I think she may be coming around.
