Tell me about it, I own some property on Tellico Lake that I need to go visit soon( gotta work on a trail camera) and finding a Saturday where the weather is decent is problematic at best.
I’m in Lafayette(for now)and it’s crazy here too; my son is in Cookeville at college.

I like watching people in winter. You have those that have no idea how to drive in snow, a bunch that think they can drive in snow and people who can actually drive in snow. The same for how they are dressed. Light jacket, no gloves or hat because they will only be in the car, Fashionable coat with no gloves or hat because it will ruin their hair. Then the ones that know that the car may break down and thise leather soled shoes or heels aren't going to help at all. Dress in layers, wear a hat and put on gloves appropriate for the weather.

Your car should have a pair of boots, 25lb bag of cat litter, folding shovel, and snacks. Hydration is snow because if it is that cold having frozen water in the car is a bit pointless.
Beat this into your kids at the very least.

6 inches of snow. 2 inches of sleet. All topped with freezing rain and the temp hasn’t gotten close to above freezing in a week. That’s how I’m doing. Fuck winter. Fuck January. Fuck this.

The other day my son was using an axe to break it up then a flat nose shovel clearing the walkway.
The neighbor across the road has been out most of day w an electric chainsaw carving it up to clear his drive the rest of the way. I kid you not.
