When I was a teenager on at least a couple of occasions I delivered a paper route and walked to school in -40 - -50 with a wind chill factor (off of Lake Superior) making it -80 - -90.

Only had to walk uphill one way though. :laugh:

Well in Brooklyn when it got that cold, we use to put on our bathing suits and turn on the fire hydrant in the street and play in the water ice!! :whistling:

Funny you should mention that Sax. We just had the Penguin plunge here on the NH coast. Bunch of fools get together and take a dip in the N. Atlantic. Air temp was in the single digits this year. Water temp. was a warm 35*

That is big in Brooklyn on New Years Day. The Penquin Clubs meet at Coney Island and go into the Atlantic. The local news always covers it and I always say next year!! Thirty five degress is COLD!! :blush:

Don't know about you all, but I'm on the balcony right now...working, smoking, browsing the boards, all in shorts and barefoot. Might even join the penguin club and jump in the pool, but then again, it is only 80F...still a little cold for the pool.
