Where did all my money go?
Some of you here are aware that I have been on the hunt for a new job. The one I have had for the last ten years has gone south. It's become a very hostile work enviorment to say the least. The No Tobacco Policy they want to force me to sign is the least of my worries.
One instance was they accused me of stealing company equipment to the point of walking in to sherrifs deputies one day. If I had not kept an equipment inventory list (That apparently the company president forgot he signed off on it a couple of years ago) on file, who knows how that would have turned out.
Anyways, ever since that day I have been carefully biding my time searching for a job that I hope I can retire from. I went on an interview last week with Loudoun County Virginia for a position in the Public Saftey Vehicle Department. Basically, I would be directly under the Fleet Manager for the whole county. I would be a glorified technical advisor for their Fire & EMS system.
They called me in for a second interview today, this time one on one with the County Director. They just called to say the job is mine and, I have been their first choice all along. They are going to work out the salary offer and let me know by the end of the week. The benefits are awesome with a pension plan and Defered Comp. matched dollar for dollar up to almost thirty dollars a day.
Wish me luck that it works out so that I can give my notice at the end of the week and tell them where to stick the no tobacco form.
