iDay

Mr. Farmer Brown bought one today as with kids and 2 businesses, i have too much crap to try and keep up w/ via laptop, pda, cell, ipod, and notepad, so i took the plunge today on a impulse buy. Like Moki said, once you try it, you understand how amazing it is. Oh, and not to mention it's a write off...

Moki, it wasn't an ATT problem for me. It was getting the company my father works for to release my phone number. After it was released and assigned to a personal account, activation took no more than 2 minutes. Still can't understand the reason to ban the phone from business accounts. I wasn't even wanting a discount on the account. My fathers company does cover some of the bill, but why does ATT care who pays it? Just seems weird to me.

The news today said that Apple is coming out with one that is 1/2 the price.

New model is around the corner.

The iPhone "Nano" rumors are a little silly, IMHO.

Sure, making a smaller phone is a given for any manufacturer to do, but... the hype all extends from one columnist's speculation.

It may be a bit silly, but it is also inevitable. I would bet that there's a different model in the stores before Christmas shopping season. My contract with Sprint doesn't end until later this year, which gives me time to see if the romors turn out to be true.

Unlikely

Looks like a nice phone but I am a bit hard on them in the past 3 yrs i have. ran one over, dropped two in the lake one fishing one kayacking, lost 1 snowboarding and the most recent one I think fell into a gutpile after a big drive hunt. My job keeps threatning me with a blackberry but I am so hard on them they havent forced me yet dont want one anyway I cannot get any peace as it is with the cell phone constantly ringing. The bad thing is they dont even pay the bill I do so I do not see an I phone in my future and if I had one you could start a pool on how long before I lost it ,shot it, ran it over or just threw it out the window in disgust.

can you get insurance on these bad boys like regular cell phones?
My office accountant was going to grab one and was told by her cingular/att dealer, a service/insurance contract was not available. which IMHO, sucks.

The AT&T rep said that most likely out of cluelessness... you can get AppleCare coverage on it, and you can insure any phone.

iPhone Stress Test -- they dropped it too. :)

Andrew, any inside info knowing if T-mobile will get an iPhone deal in the next year, or is this strictly AT&T only? Wonder if this thing can be unlocked to work on other GSM networks.

i think their deal with at&t was a 2 year contract...so probably not.

Strictly AT&T, sadly. Hackers are working on busting it open, though.

Jeepers, AT&T must have made Mr. Jobs an offer he or Apple couldn't refuse.
btw...looks like they already got the file system hacked...http://digg.com/apple/iPhone_Hackers_we_ha..._the_filesystem
