THAT is a very good point my friend.
 
It would bleach the sides of the cigars exposed to sunlight, perhaps make the humidity uneven, etc.

Think of the upholstery at the top of the back seat of a car that is not garage-kept.
 
Could act like a magnifying glass....Leave it in the sun and come back to ashes!!!!!!
 
UV radiation breaks down lots of organic compounds. Not something you want to happen to your sticks.
