If your thinking of a Vinotemp

I need to snap some pictures of my Aristocrat and the contents I have inside. I meant to do that when I got it, but completely forgot. Tomorrow I think I'll snap them and post them.

Would love to see what you got in there. Nothing better than some humidor porn.

I'll do that for sure thing tomorrow. Although I kinda got a fake padding since I just got back from Big Smoke.

Yeah Chris lets see some pics of those 80th's you have sitting in there :p

Wow! I didn't all this was really going on. Those are all pretty impressive set ups. One day I aspire to be "that guy".

Nice pictures, guys. Love the custom drawers and shelves. I've got a Vinotemp, but still using the ghetto wire shelves. One of these days I'll get off my ass and make some wooden shelves.

I'm hoping to pay someone else to make the shelves for mine when it's time. I'd do it myself but I'd rather keep all of my fingers.  :whistling:

I'm with you on that one.

I currently have a box of baking soda getting the plastic smell out of mine. Got my digital hygrometer calibrated and will be getting some beads of some kind soon. Shelves from the very kind and generous MTMouse will be coming soon.

I need to stop by my B&M and get some empty boxes to take up some space and help regulate humidity.

Then I need to get some sticks to put in it. Should be all setup and ready to go by the time next spring rolls around.

Can't wait!

They'll work fine for over a year, I don't think they are prone to rusting  The wood is nice though, it acts as a fine humidifier with the boxes and cigars, among looking nice.

I had Mtmouse make my shelves. They fit perfect and were priced good. Shoot him a PM.

The wife and I were at target and we walked past the vino temps and I said see that is what I want to get for my cigars. She looked at me and said hmmm maybe santa will get you one for Christmas  :0 !

If they had one sitting there, I would take it. Target is discontinuing them and I know guys on other boards can't find them anywhere.

I believe they have been marked down to $50 to move them out.

One thing I've been wondering about is the heat output off the back of one of those Vinotemps . . . I have a small walkin closet in my office that I'll be turning into a humidor next year sometime, and I keep thinking it'd be nice to stick a Vinotemp in there for long term aging, since it's a more controlled environment. And to segregate certain, aaah, origins of cigars from the rest. But I'm worried about heating up the whole closet with it, since in my experience making something cold means putting the heat somewhere ELSE. But I have no experience with thermoplate designs.

Any thoughts? Those of you who've gone Vinotemp, have you noticed heat coming off the back of your unit?

I made drawers for a member on another board that has 6 Vinotemps in a closet.

Yes there is a small amount of heat put off by these units. It's a hot plate/cold plate. But the hot section is cool enough to touch without being burned and these units have a shield on the back. There is no chance IMO that this will cause any ill effects. If you put it in a closet you will be perfectly fine.

HERE'S mine.
