Has anyone else been experiencing slow operation of the board during searches and such? Occasionally during surfing it bogs way down too.

If you replace the batteries in your Apple II, Wilkey, I'm sure the internet will be back up to its normal speed......

Seriously, I've noticed some slow page loads, but they always seem to get there. They do take a while, sometimes.....

Cheers, my friend - B.B.S.

I've seen this a few times, typically I just open the page I want in a separate tab and move on to something else for a bit. That seems to at least keep me from getting impatient.

I've had timeout errors, usually when posting. It hangs seemingly forever, and then switches to a page cannot be found screen. And other times, just plain slow opening threads. I'd hate to see what this looks like on your dial-up Wilkey.

Batteries? I'm strictly solar. ;)

To be honest, it's so damn slow at 28.8 that unless it's really, really horrendous, I probably wouldn't even notice it. That's what led me think something else might be up.

:0 Holy crap bro! I have a 56k around here somewhere if you want it!

And yes its been hanging a lot recently, I usually just close the window and re-open it again when it does it.

I have experienced about everything that everyone before me has stated.

I have noticed it more lately too...maybe the last month or so...maybe too many members are on now! I find when I'm searching or trying to post a reply...it takes a long time...

Last month of so does seem about the time frame.

I've noticed it too... :D

Working on resolving this issue. Seems we're stretching the limits again...

I just ordered some more resources. Please provide feedback.

I find the slowdowns happen to me most with the PM system which is the main reason I prefer emails instead. It is much worse with my old computer (an old HP Pavillion from 1999 that runs Windows 98) but that's probably due mostly to that computer being a POS so it's probably more on my end.

I've seen it slow at peak times too.

The information super highway get's a little congested...not to mention we've had our all time high
user amounts.

Let me know how it seems now. Did an upgrade last night.

I still get an occasional hesitation. But so far, no really long delays or hangs. I'll pay attention today and see how it goes.

Interesting... Just did some research, and it seems Yahoo has implemented a new way of spidering websites. They're now sending out THOUSANDS of spiders to index sites. Every spider on CP is treated like an actual user, which uses resources on the server.

Here are some links:

I have just blocked yahoo from accessing CP. I've already noticed an increase in performance, and a drop in guest count. I will continue to monitor this...
