Rub them on your genitals. It's an ancient Indian form of viagra.

Evan, how many have you eaten at one sitting?

Man I am jealous! The wife and I try and grow jalapenos every year and they never do well. Must be the climate in NE? We do pretty well with other kinds though. We usually get a good amount of Hungarian Wax, hot cherry peppers, and cowhorn peppers. Makes me wonder why the jalapenos dont work out. In any case- good lookin' peppers!

For what to do with them, I'm not sure if you do any canning, but my wife usually makes a bunch of pickled peppers and cans 'em up once we get enough. And I'd definitely second the pico de gallo, salsa verde, and maybe a whole crapload of guacamole!

I had to share this also:

CHOCOLATE HABANERO! My first time I was successful at growing them in 3 years.

As far as not getting good results, it must be your weather? I think I'm in zone 10, you should find out which zone you're in, you might just not have the right climate to grow them?

I have been experimenting with different soil mixes/fertilizer combos and finally tweaked my blend to the perfect mix for my area, the stalks of most of my plants are 1" - 1.5" thick at the base, they are like little trees! :D

Nice looking jalapenos. I personally love them. My wife makes an incredible jalapeno relish. Great on burgers, dogs, eggs, sandwiches, lamb, and the list goes on and on...Enjoy.

I will share my soil blend so that people can try it if they want.

It will be posted in Insights current pass thread (that was set on fire by pirates) which is HERE.

:D

We've successfully grown jalapenos and thai chili peppers in Upstate NY, so it's probably not the climate. She just watered 'em twice a day, and we used plenty of fertilizer in the soil.

Stuff em with cheese..

Wrap em Bacon...

Throw em on the grill

Eat your fill

Die a happy man

I got habanero on my &$%@ once after i went to take a leak after making hot sauce. WOW IT BURNS! Its a very awkward burning sensation that feels cool at the same time, I don't recommend it. Ever since then I make sure and wear latex gloves.

I get habanero a$$ every time after eating Thai.

Bsneed and I sliced a mess of them up and canned them in sweet pickle brine I made up with a piece of garlic in each jar. Turned out wonderful. As far as growing them, never really had any trouble. People always ask me what I do in my garden and I always tell them I just plant them. We may water 3 times in a year and fertilize maybe twice at the most. Goes for tomatoes also. It all comes down to how good your soil is. If anyone has any questions concerning soil amendments or fertilization, just give me a shout.

Habanero peppers is on the medium scale for me. Especially after drinking some of this http://www.hotsauceworld.com/bl3amrepeex.html and its not even the hottest, but it sure does pack a punch. We ate at Chili's the other day and they had Onion strings breaded and fried with Jalapenos breaded and fried. Jalapenos doesn't sit well on my stomach but these did. I didn't even get a runny nose. :(

I eat jalapeños like carrots, so if you have an abundance that you don't know what to do with, I'll gladly buy some off you.
