Yeah, aggravated offenses and racial slurs are two different catagories. Which is not to say I don't understand ones point about how bad it was. I think its just another great example of how far we still need to come. I am not sure what upset me more, what he said, or that the return salvos were equally racially motivated. I have seen and heard all kinds of things about well, there is no equivalent to the N word so.........etc, but its INTENT that makes the words what they are. And the intention was to fire back with racial motivated insults. Both of them are plain wrong, Richards though just plain lost it! I don't know for sure, does he REALLY feel that way or if it was just knowing what is going to set someone off the most and using it as getting back at the guy. Not making excuses for Richards at all, its still not right, but I don't think the guy dons his KKK garb on the weekends
Should just be another lesson in WHY no one should be saying things like that no matter what ones color, no matter what "minority" one belongs too. There is no justification for any person to do it. Again, it goes back to leadership, and everyones leaders should be leaving it alone, and that includes cultural icons, celebrities and the like from all walks of life. No one should have a free pass, no one deserves it, no group, no individual in America. You can't expect equality and fairness if you are not willing to give it.
Can't we all just GET ALONG????
