Couldn't sleep this morning so I got up and cranked up the Roadstar. I went east on I-40 and watched the sun rise.

I rode back home, cooked up some bacon and eggs, drank some good coffee, and am in the process of finishing a Partagas Short.

It's only 0720 and I have cramed a days worth of enjoyment in a few short hours.

Life is good.

You can't beat that. Life the longest job you will every have might as well enjoy it.

Thanks for sharing, now pass the coffee and cigar!

Some of the most enjoyable things in life are the simplest.

I love the sunrises, although i don't see them to often. The best is when your on the outskirts of city limits, heading into town...and all the skyscrapers are illuminated with a vibrant blue from the sky!

What kind of coffee you drinking?

great, ain't it?
Saw the sunrise in Homer (Alaska - about 5am) from the middle of Kachemak Bay- super colorful due to the smoke haze in the air form a nearby forest fire. Sad, but really made it even more spectacular! too bad we didn't get many fish...

Way to start your day off. Now, only if I can get up that early.

Funny thing about that- I HATE geting up early! I'm a stay up LATE person (not unusual for me to be playing online at 4am!) and sleeping in as late as possible...

unless...

I'm doing something totally fun and enjoyable (for me...) like hunting or fishing. Then I can pop up as early as needed, without an alarm! Crud, even the dogs were whining about getting up too early, and usually they wake me up because I missed their breakfast feeding!

But enjoying life and the moment, like the sunrises mentined here... man, I'll get up anytime for that. Good scenery, great company and a fun activity- life is GREAT.

I hear ya Swissy. I can get up as early as need be. I typically GET UP at 4:00 am six days per week anyway to hit the weights/gym for three hours. But I don't need to hit the rack early to do it. I can go to bed pretty late and find I'm a-ok. Just don't need much sleep. That trait served me well during my active USMC days.

Nice Henry Rollins avatar Miami. I used to pump weights to him back in the day.

In terms of Henry Rollins, "back in the day" I was pumping weights (and getting into all sorts of trouble skating - streets and vert) to Black Flag. Now, I still do, but I do get kick out listening to ol' Hank ramble on in his spoken word ventures and some of his Rollins Band (rip) free-form stuff. Oh yeah, and his occassional acting gigs.

MC--no kidding!

I was friends with a couple guys from Miami that loved Black Flag and were pretty good skaters. Albert and Inri (yeah like what it said on the cross).

I never really got into Black Flag so much but they had some good songs.

sarge--way to turn the situation into a positive. Hope as the day progresses it stays good!

You suck, Swissy... You get to see the sunrise and sunset in the span of about 1 hour during the summer...

Interesting to see some fellow skaters/ black flag fans. I've been skating since '86. If you are ever in Chicago drop me a line, we have a couple of great parks.

Sounds like a nice moment Cigarsarge, I saw the sunrise as well but it was on my way home from working midnights and not quite as enjoyable.
