Post #1:

I've been taking in everyone’s wisdom for a couple of months now and I thought it was time to do it with some accountability.

I’ve been smoking cigars for about a year now. Recently I moved from a tupidor to a coolerdor and I knew I had a problem. The problem is I can’t smoke my cigars fast enough. I generally smoke a cigar a week, but if I get together with some friends I can blow through quite a few in a night. I have to buy most of my cigars online because of the outrageous tobacco tax in Washington state, also Seattle is anti-smoking in most restaurants so it is hard to find a good place to smoke when it is raining (which it does here a lot).

I’ve tried a few different brands getting samplers online from places like JR and Famous-smoke. Like: A Fuente, Aristoff, Cohiba, El Rey Del Mundo, H. Upmann, Hoyo Dark Sumatra, LGC, Montecristo, Padron, and Partagas Blacks. All of which were good, except for maybe the Upmanns, but I still will smoke the ones I have left. :D

I’ve also had the pleasure of trying some ISOMs: Monte #2, #4, Cohiba Siglo I, and Partagas Serie D #4. All of which were awesome. Die Castro Die!

I guess I like stronger flavored cigars, I figure if you are going to smoke you better go for broke.

I live in Seattle, WA. Actually north of Seattle (Lynnwood), but I’d like to keep that a secret, lets just say it is not the most sought after neighborhood. I work at a well known software company in Redmond by day and at night I am a family man. I have 3 kids 10, 6, and 1. Plus one more on the way (April 2005). My wife stays home and teaches them school during the day and I try to pull her back from the grips of insanity at night.

Anyway I’m official now. I can wipe the lurking slime off and have a good conscious.

Thanks,
James
