Maxwell, Maximus or Maxmilian?

We're expecting boy/girl twins in less than a month. Mollie and Max will be here very soon!

Even though we'll call the boy Max, she likes Maxwell for his formal name and I think I like Maximus or Maxmilian better. I doubt I'll have any say in the matter, but I'd like to get an opinion of what others think if they had their choice between Maxwell, Maximus, or Maxmilian.

Maximus Decimus would be my choice. :laugh: When he is born, instead of screaming and crying after delivery he'll just shout "are you not entertained?"

I always thought it was Maximilian, but perhaps there's several options.

Maximus, as others have pointed out, is the obvious choice. Just be careful giving him any toy swords.

I think Maximus is the obvious best choice, but also the obvious vetoed choice. So, I vote for Maximillian because it is still cool,is likely to get approved and doesn't make me think of coffee (Maxwell).

Congrats to you and your wife. That "Are you not entertained" about made me lose my coffee. Hilarious. I would have to say Maximus and not let people call him Max, instead insist on his full name. Think of the intimidation on the playground he will enjoy. I lobbied hard to have my son named Cyrus (old family name) but my wife said kids will call him Cyrus the Virus. I'm like, "Yeah, exactly. What kid would mess with a kid named Cyrus the Virus?".
