Well, we survived - barely... I really should report an assasination attempt by the Tequila producers of Mexico! And after profound testing by yours truly, I have to say Don Julio Anejo is the winner...

We were in Zihuatanejo, Mexico and what a time- except for the humidity. This Alaskan boy HATES the humidity... it was in the upper UPPER ninties (both temps and RH%) and I was sweating my ARSE off! Oh well... the suffering you go thru to have fun!

Not much to report, other than tequila, cerveza, scuba diving (oh YEA!), snorkling, bikinis, fishing, tequila, fishing, cerveza, shopping (boooooooooring), fresh fish meals, tequila, cerveza and fishing. Did I mention tequila, cerveza and fishing? :whistling:

We stayed in an awesome little place- with a HUGE deck. And on it was my new buddy... my smoking buddy I named 'Fish'

this is the view from the hammock I smoked many a cigar in! You can see Fish in this pic...

Of course there seems to be no photos of the hammock this year, but there's this one- just before I lit up my PAM...

Then there's the Sailfish FISHING!

then there's the deckhands who thought they were comediens-

they would pop a beer and hold it for you to drink while the fish fight was on, but they never let you stop! I had to pretty much chug mine! Damn the luck...

Then another day we paid a guy to take us to a remote beach for the girls to sun on and the guys to snorkle... on the way back he threw out some lines and we ended up catching a Dorado (Dolphin Fish, or Mahi Mahi). We went back to Los Gatos beach where our friend Franco cooked it up for us... Mmmmmmmm was that GOOD.

Well, it seems I can only paste in 10 pics... the rest are at My Photobucket Page

Pics of the area, us fishing, a few drinking shots :0 and the rest. It's my wife and I, and my sister and her family. My niece celebrated her 21st B-Day there, and even tho my nephew was under 21, the age there is 18 and as a good uncle I was buying him lots of beer and tequila! Just don't tell my sister or she'll KILL me...

And didn't see Red or Andy, but there's always next year... now back to the grind (sigh)

Nice Dorado. Xmas of 94 I was deployed in the Caribbean. The skipper called for a fish call as it was holiday routine. We bagged 5 Mahi, 1 at 50 pounds. The minute the first was on the line, the Chief Cook changed the menu for dinner. He cut the portion of Ham, and added Mahi, blackend, broiled, or fired. We also caught a couple of silfish, but they were small.

BTW, thaks for posting the pictures!!! That is why I love being deployed, good fishing and great port calls.

Welcome back Buddy! That looks like you had an awesome time. The pictures are great. It makes me want to head down there and do a little fishing. I went out once and only caught some Bonitas, no swordfish though. It was still a lot of fun.

Glad you enjoyed it!

Welcome back Swissy.
I've never been to Mexico, but I have many friends who have been there and they tell me that it's party heaven there. My friends who have gone to Mexico tell me that Mexico isn't very clean and that the food and water is bad there.
If you like good beaches, fishing, excellent food and beautiful girls go to the Greek Islands. I always go there and I always have an excellent time in Greece. And you can find real Cuban cigars to smoke while in Greece too. :)

Great to hear you had a super time Jim and that you had your share of tequila, cerveza and fishing........ :D
Excellent pictures and that's a good lookin' fish you caught there brother....... :)

Looks like a great trip!!
