True, I thought maybe you were acouple a day like some people on here then that would of been a whole lot of cigars. I guess somewhere between the two isnt bad :p

My secret is to run a lot of group buys. That way you get the visceral excitement of spending thousands on cigars but it really takes very little out of your pocket.

You get to hunt down the good deals and make connections with tons of vendors etc. The vendors like you, your CC company likes you, it's good times all around!
 
Like any hobby getting started, Humidors, humidification device, meters and the like take up quite a bit of cash. Once you have weather the storm of the start up cost, learn the beauty behind cigar PASS/TRADE,sampling cigars to find what you like, buying becomes much easer. I do my best to stay with in a month alowance.

My humi only holds 2,500 too 3,000 cigar. Sounds like that would be enough. However from time to time when work is slow, or I hang out with the guys, it's easy to blow 10/15 sticks.

However as long as the little women needs new cloths EVER SEASON, shoes and purse. I seem to never have to answer why the UPS/ mail man stops buy with another package.

I don't know about that..... I'm living proof even group buys can put you in the poor house, or at least where I'm at now...... in the dog house! :laugh:

GBs can be a lot of work. Done well, researched properly, they can be a real labor of love, but certainly a service to your fellow smokers. The credit side...well, that's another story for another day.

They're fun, but the problem is I like putting up complete boxes. :D

I hear ya there Wilkey. I don't buy hardly any singles or packs anymore; all boxes. I think I read somewhere that cigars get better with age :whistling:
 
It really depends on the month. If I'm runing low on somethng I like or I know a line is being cut then I buy. If I have a bad month at work, then I have to have self-control and I don't buy, more often than not lately. Some months I get more than a few gifts & have no need to buy. I once went more than a few months w/out any cigar outlays. The horror of it all, I know!
 
I get upset when I see how much I spend on singles! I go back and total up the cost (accountant can't help it) and I freak at the nuber of cases I could have bought @ discount. :(

I'm not sure I want to figure out how many years of cigars I have stocked.
 
I'm very very strange when it comes to buying cigars. I don't have a large income (as I continually harp on (I'm sorry!!), so I try to use it sparingly. I have a TON of cigars for the rate i smoke, 2-4 a week, and I have a 48qt cooler, 16qt cooler, 100ct, 25ct, and a gallon tupperware container all of the way full. I tend to get ansy when I haven't purchased anything in awhile (usually at 3 weeks is when I get the shakes :laugh: ) I have gone a month w/o a purchase, but I probably made it by a week or so. I dont konw what it is about openig up a box and just looking at it knowing that they are all yours, smelling the cedar, man what a feeling. I about wet myself when I opened my box of Tat P3s (THANKS AL!) I coudln't stop smiling and even took a few pictures LOL!
 
Since starting this hobby, I've bought alot of cigars, but have recently gotten more cigars in trades than anything. I have YET to go a couple WEEKS without buying something, even when I don't have the moolah for it!

At the rate I've been smoking, I'll have room in my humi for at least two boxes worth, but I'm still new in this hobby, so I will probably blow my money on samplers and singles for at least 10-12 more months...

You wish! Try a few months, i give you 3 before you buy your first box. :laugh:
 
It takes me about a half hour for watering the little beauties and about the only time i can buy anymore is when one of my humidors is low. Seven humidors and four coolidors, all full, is my limit. But i have to say that aged cigars are THE best. :)
 
I spent a month with my ex-wife one day planning my daughter's wedding......I didn't buy anything that month :whistling:

Not what a newb with a single 100-count humidor wants to hear...

Especially when it looks like March is going to be my month of (hopefully) not spending (much) money on cigars.

Still haven't bought my first box yet... Should be the perfect thing for April Fool's Day.
