Today as I was waiting for a parking spot, some nice benz speeded in reverse and jacked the spot. As I turned to my left, I noticed the chevy lumina coming at me. This sweet little old lady named "Willie Lee" (yes it really is her name) came-a-running into my mazda. We got out, she said sorry, I said no biggie. TWO HOURS later the police showed up to write the report. Thank God the Chattanooga PD is always there when I need them!

Anyways thought you'd like that story!
How was everyone else's fridays?

I have this license theoryy, not all drivers should be considered equal
there should be rated on ability

A driver green license tag. able to driver under any conditions talk on cell phone ,moderate amount of alcohol, jugdging speed by their feel not by posted limits ect

B driver yellow tag never alowed on the interstate or on a main road, they're the kind that come to a stop on a on ramp to enter a major highway

C driver red tag can never leave his neighborhood basicly drives to the store and church

Q-tip no tags can only look at their cars

Would not have been suprised to hear her pull a Kathy Bates line from FGT, "I'm older and have more insurance." :D

This is too funny, I'd like to see legislation introduced along these lines

Unfortunately you need to look up the proper uses of "Their, They're, There" ;) :sign:

come on so i'm a LOUSY speller :( :(
when i use spell check it gets confused TOO
[snapback]171624[/snapback]

Spelling's one thing but completely wrong words are something else:

"they're, their, there"
"you're, your"
"too, to"

It's good to know the difference because as you alluded to, even a spell checker can't help you out in those cases.

I hate the B driver and would love to feed them all a bullet in the back of the head when they do that crap :D

B. - the ramps are for accelorating, not for looking at! :angry2:

I would only like to see more attention paid to older drivers, tho I like the lettered idea too! :D
IMHO, more driver's tests need to happen as you get older. Some places say after a certain age you don't have to renew, others keep it at the same X-yr. renewal for all, etc..

My plan:
Reg drivers have to go in and tested for their licences every X years [say 8]. Once you reach a certain age [lets say 65] it is lowered by 1/2 to 4years. And once you reach late 70s, have that number reduced to every 2 years.

My reasons:
always new things entering the market, changing driving habits, limits, etc... means a person needs to be kept up-to-date on these things. Plus, once you reach a certain age, your skills will decrease and measures might have to be taken for safty precautions.
This is not to prevent anyone from driving or my need to get old folks off the roads, but had a wonderful aunt [approaching an older age, but still very alert and active]who was permanently disabled by an older woman driver who 'forgot which was the brake and the gas'.

of course AARP would never let up 'impede on rights' like that so methinks it will not happen anytime soon.

It's unfortunate that the AARP has such a strong lobby. I think they ruin a lot of things. You are night on both counts (that there should be stricter rules about driving skills and that it will never happen).

CC means no harm on the grammer part. He's just Miss Crabtree lol.

it not just the older drivers i have encountered plenty of young C drivers . under my plan you would not need a lot of testing because the A driver would have the power to demote other drivers. in other words if some one does a dumb thing like the parking lot crash you wound send her license in for reclassifcation to B or C :)

Etc, not ect, from et cetera (or etcetera).

In Japan they have stickers that are placed on cars to warn other drivers that the person near you may be a danger. One sticker is used for new drivers (2 years after initial licensing) and another for seniors (60+). The other side of the coin is that stickered individuals take less blame in an accident. The other driver, being more capable and experienced, is considered more at fault becuase they sould be more able to prevent the accident.

BTW - Both Japan and Korea are all-party, percentage fault nations. Everyone involved is assigned a portion of ther blame. Foreigners are always more at fault.

In 6 years, I have only seen one accident when a party was 100% blamed. Unfortunately I was in the accident. An Okinawan fell asleep at the wheel and hit me at 60kph (I was stoped at a light).

On the other hand,m the worst (and most stupid) apportionment I have seen was in Korea. A friend was stopped at a light (S Bound lane), a pedestrian began crossing against the signal (N to S) and was struck by a driver travelling west. The pedestrian slammed into my friend's windshield and he was apportioned with 20% blame because the pedestrian would not have been injured as badly if he hadn't been at the light.

How jacked up is that?
