I logged on this morning to find 15 PM's from you guys (newbies). I am NOT a moderator, nor am I going to get involved in your little wars. Do not PM or EMail us to resolve a situation for you. If someone is outright flaming you, then and only then is it appropriate to REPORT THE POST. I just read through 15 PM's of worthless drivel.

I'd like some other well established members to help point out our rules around here.

We are a self-moderated community. I think most of us prefer it that way.

I guess your right, but thread hijacking and flame wars are a pain in the ass.
 
Self-moderating to a point. If you don't like a decision Rod makes, tough sh*t. The people who know what CP has always been about will understand. No need to ban anyone without proper cause, but locking threads that are BS should be done almost everyday, as far as what I've seen lately.
 
Don't you wish you could just reach through the monitor and slap someone?!

Well put Matt. I don't even read most of the new posts anymore because they're just BS. I would definitely like to see some cleaning house done. A lot of the new members (and old members for that matter) would probably get a lot more out of this site if a few of them just learned how to relate to the community a little better. Not to say that I don't get anything out of CP anymore or that I don't want to contribute anymore, just that it's harder when were surronded by ignorance. If you don't like how we do things around here and can't take some critizism or joking from time to time then get the hell out.


I'm not going to start hugging anyone or anything but...
This is supposed to be a friendly place to meet and talk to fellow members about cigar related info and even some non cigar related topics. Of course ripping on each other is fun sometimes but it's supposed to be in fun and in the spirit of CP.

Here's to more members "getting it" and keeping a "pay it forward" attitude about how we treat each other :thumbs:
 
Well Put Gator, I couldn't agree more!

I hardly read much over here anymore either as you have to wade knee-deep through the garbage to get any sense out of it. Growing by leaps and bounds has its disadvantages I would imagine....
 
I too had over 10 PMs this morning from those trying to "explain" thier side. I told them last night in the thread, which is now closed because of thier BS, that I didn't care who started what. I just thought that they were acting like 5 yr olds and needed to stop. Thier BS, between just 2 guys, went on for like 4 or more pages. I threw some posts in there as well but it seemed as if they only showed up on my screen, at least I read what I said.

I'm just sorry that Rod has to deal with this kind of BS.

I really like this forum...seems like a bunch of mature(mostly! :p ), good group of people...and i really dig this self-moderating idea. Its alot better than most forums out there where if you post something in the wrong area, you get chastized by the admins and banned for life for saying a curse word....and would like to keep it that way too. Very lax and not uptight about the rules.

Newbies...stay outta trouble!! If you want to play the "flame game" take it to PM's or email. I would hate to see a few new guys ruin it for all the older guys here!!!
 
I've only been here a few months but it seems to be changing. I think we need to interview new people.
 
For the most part, I quit reading the posts. I am trying to stick only to cigar related posts, but even those are few and far between. Lock up the lobby for a while. That's what I do to my 8 & 9 y/o girls when they are bad...take away the privelidges.
 
That thread was rediculous! No one should have to wade through 6 pages of nonsense only to find there was no solution to the problem. Do what you have to do to clean the place up Rod. :thumbs:

I come back from 4 days of hunting and things are in an uproar again... why can't you all just get along (without me!?)

What some n00b do now!? (like I'm not one of 'em... :laugh: )
