I've got a buddy who's pacing the floor for that same model to come in . . . his order has the light rail though. Very nice!!

Edit: Night sights, not rails . . . duh!!!!!!!!

Nice one. Have you put any rounds through it yet? How does it feel and shoot?

Haven't put any rounds down range yet. The overall feel is excellent though. It fits my hand quite comfortably and is a lot lighter than my current carry weapon which is a stainless AMT .380 Backup.

No kidding? That's surprising. I've never held the AMT .380 Backup but it looks like a nice light compact, great for a pocket or IWB. If you were any closer, I'd try to buy it off you. ;)

That's a mighty pretty cigar lighter ya have there!!!

:p

LOVE the Kimber arms... dads got one very similar...

I just checked the stats and the AMT is about 21 ounces (fully loaded) so it is actually a bit lighter than the Kimber. Must be the size difference that makes the Kimber seem lighter. The AMT is indeed a great "drop in the pocket and go" gun though.

Kimber makes some mighty fine hardware. Nice looking piece, I wish I was allowed to carry that off duty.

Very nice! I am looking to get something a bit lighter than my Glock 27 its about too big to carry in a pocket and damned heavy when loaded.Plus I am not a fan of the safety so i dont like to carry racked, wich kind of defeats the purpose. What would one expect to pay for this Kimber model?

Much too small for hands my size. My norm is a full frame Series 70 and even that could use a 1/2" more grip. Looks nice though.

Beautiful. The 1911 is a wonderful design that has really stood the test of time and .45ACP is a great round.

Depending on where you buy it you can expect to pay $800 + taxes and any fees. I've seen this model sell for $750 at times through internet dealers but then you are having to deal with transfer fees and BATF fees if I'm not mistaken.

I'm 6'4" and 250 lbs so you could say I don't have very petite hands and this frame fits my hand like it was was custom made for me. I looked at the Glock 27 and could only get one and a half fingers on the grip and this one lets me get a full grip with no problem

The Kimbers have always looked great, but just don't fit me. I don't own yet, but have about 1.5K rounds downrange in a bunch of rental guns, and I keep coming back to an XD. Springfield 1911s also fit me well. I hope that Kimber works out well for you!
