hey guys i was just wonder what are some good reasonably priced non cuban cigars???? im looking for stuff to fill my tuper-dor with and the only cigars i have smoked are cubans with my uncles (cohiba, R & J, partigas, and a few others) I love cubans (cohibas #1) but i cant afford to buy a new box every few months......let me know what you think!! thanks!!!

Ill be the first but I doubt the last to encourage you to try some of the Various Don Pepin cigars - the black is very good IMO.

In addition, I am enjoying Cabaiguan Belicoso Fino's (although some seem to be underfilled) and also Brown label Tatuaje's...namely the Noellas and especials.

As someone pointed out to me when I was new here... Cubans are illegal in the States! ;)

I think the best thing to do would be to go to a cigar shop (B&M) and just try out some different smokes. You will quickly be able to tell what you like and don't like. Also might want to check out the "Newbie Sampler Trade" which will give you several different smokes to choose from...

As mentioned above... I don't think you can go wrong with Tatuaje... or really anything that Pepin has his hands on. I also love Padron (X000 sereis wold be a good place to start) and also Rocky Patel makes good smokes. But again... to each is own... and many smokes that others like, I find don't suit my palate. On the other hand.. some might consider many of my "go to" smokes as dog rockets!

What you really ought to do is fill out your profile and go post an intro thread, as was suggested in your post over in the Humidor section. Then when you finish with that you should head over to the Cigar Reviews section of the board and read alot of reviews, then go out and purchase whatever sounds good to you.

i ment it by cohibas are my #1 choice but singlo I are one of my favorites, a lil on the small end but quick and enjoyable to say the least

My favorite non Cuban cigars are Padrons. I also really like the Tatuaje brand and the Olive Serie O.

I'd say Padron 2000's or Arturo Fuente 858's are both good sticks in a 'midrange'
There's TONS more, but that's a good start IMHO

You should know that it's a federal offense to engage in any transacton involving a product from Cuba. I believe being 'gifted' a smoke (to smoke immediately) would count as well?

As mentioned above, take a trip to the local store and dive in. You'll find some things you'll enjoy and some others that you may not enjoy. It's all about the journey when finding out what you like.

Another suggestion would be to try a Newbie Sampler Trade here on CP. I'm too lazy to provide a link ( :D ) but do a quick look around and you'll find the right thread.

try some la flor dominicana's by litto gomez....the double ligero's are awsome smokes. the entire padron line is very good, as well as AVO's, Ashton VSG's, regular Ashton line, fuente sungrowns, all of the pepin line as well as tatuaje's (as mentioned by others) and many more.
head over to the cigar review section and see what appeals to you. besides being illegal here in the US, there are many, many legal cigars that are good, if not better than forbidden fruit.
hope this helps

Now that I see you are from St. Paul, I would highly recommend going over to Stogies on Grand and sampling what they have available. Their prices are decent (besides the absurd MN tobacco tax added) and they have a great selection of cigars. They also have a decent lounge where you can enjoy your cigar.

There's a Toast Across America event coming up as well that you might want to look into. It's a great cause, and a great chance for you to meet some other Twin Cities cigar smokers.

For the price, look into Sancho Panza's. I recently picked up a fiver and I was pretty impressed at how good they smoked.
