Alex is my Brother and a good guy with a warped sense of humor. My statement was also warped. Get over it, folks.

Yep!
I don't think Alex thought this out either, and would not have intentionally cost me, or others the lost work he did. But, he's still on my asshole list for the next few days.

For all the people complaining about losing work, maybe save once in a while?

And if you're at work and lost work, well, maybe surfing websites for your own enjoyment during working hours isn't for you. It's not too difficult to hover over the link to see where it leads before clicking it.

1. Gee, why didn't I think about that!..............It was something I had open in another window, while going back and forth to CP. I didn't lose anything that was saved, or closed.

2. I don't think too many of us were at work at around 10:00 PM EST last night when most of this happened.

3. I expect porn, ect., but I don't expect some shit that's going to lock your computer up, and lose any unsaved work you're doing. So, I don't think twice about clicking on a link from the comfort of my own home.

Edit to add: Okay, between 6:00 to 9:00 PM EST.

Damn you! You are just paraphrasing my angst into a more legible and legitimate statement, thus solidifying yourself as a more apt weaver of words than myself. This leaves me standing aghast and slightly shamed at my own inability to form such a broad and complete summary of the situation in the concise way that you demonstrated.

Woe! Woe betide any who would draw a contemplative breath in anticipation of perhaps creating, using text alone, a relevant and thought provoking post for the readers of this fine forum. Such an effort will be matched mere moments after posting, which will crush the dreams of any 'wannabe' weaver of words.

Excuse me, I must now sit in quiet darkness and eat sweaty cheese to console my broken heart.

1 - OK, so nothing was lost.

2 - You're probably right, but that's not stopping people from wanting to "hit him with a baseball bat"

3 - It shouldn't lock the computer up. Just the browser window that's open. Ctl + Alt + Del, then shut down the browser. Alt + F4 might also work to close the window. I know Ugaman said he can't ctl+alt+del on his computer, but is that really the case for 3 pages of peope?

/me points and laughs, there's many web sites that do similar things.

oh and Alex is not, nor has been associated with the chat room.

That is all

WOW..

It was a joke. Im sure many of you know about the "RICK ROLLED" phenomenon. I Just wanted to share it with you, as I was rick rolled at work and could not stop laughing my ass off . I sent it to my boss and he freaking could not stop laughing because he opened it at work! I thought some of you would enjoy it as much as I did. Guess I was wrong.

It was not ADWARE, SPYWARE, TRJOANS or a VIRUS. In no way can this EVER MESS up a computer (even a locked down one with strict user policies). It will only open an additional WEB BROWSER session So it would not ever effect a Document or other running apps. I would never ever knowingly inflict damage on another persons PC. I have worked in I.T. for 15+ years and respect everything associated with this business.

My apologies to my friends and B'sOTL i have met in person and thru CP interaction for posting this link.

I am ready to take my punishment like a man while I smoke down my moontrance! ???

<Sigh>

1. I did lose something I had on Microsoft Excel that I was doing at home, for work over the last few day.

2. LOL! I don't want to hit Alex, I got pissed for about five (okay fifteen) minutes, got over it, then started over.

3. It did lock it up. Went on the Task Manager, ended the process, and then proceeded to hit "Restore Session" on Firefox.............Crap! Repeat process. When all was said and done, my spreadsheet project was nowhere to be found. Don't know what the hell happened, but I didn't end that process.

A Moonie? I think i should send you an Acid Cold Tea Infusion. :sign: I know i was quick to click the link and had something to say about it, i took it as a joke and after i laughed my ass off i closed the window and went on with my day. I along with a bunch of the other members took it as a joke.

I mean it though keep it up and i will be bombing you with Acid's :whistling:

Edited for grammer

Apology accepted, Alex - however.....

...and mine had to be rebooted after some "task manager" adjustments, too. Moral of the story is while it "shouldn't" lock up or otherwise mess up folks machines, it's pretty clear that it did in some cases. Probably not a good thing to do again going forward.....

Hey, I'm old school. No problems, Alex. I thought it was funny once I knew how to get out of it. Good stuff. Your a good brother.

Now, about that hair shirt, or maybe you should hit a Cuban sandwich that is floating around here.

You were wrong, I tell you, wrong! I think there should be a price to pay for this egregious violation of trust.

Alex, you must do penance. You ought to send all that posted on this thread a cigar. Including me, although I was totally unaffected by it and never even saw the link.

When you are ready to atone for your fault, PM me for my address.
