So back in the stone age me and my buddy were fairly frequent golfers but I moved away for college and work and lost interest in it some with no one to play with.
Anyway my 19 yo son is hanging up his lacrosse cleats and I asked him if he would be interested in trying golf and to my surprise he said yes. So a trip to the driving range is planned. It also helps the county parks and rec offers lessons at one of there public course's/driving ranges which is in the plan for him and me since I was a self taught hacker. At 19, and never picked up a club before, hes a blank slate so fingers crossed.
Now here is the $1M question. If he does want to pursue this Im going to be in the market for some new sticks for him and me. This will be a casual thing at least in the beginning so I dont have a lot of interest in dumping a crap ton of $ into gear right out of the gate. Ive gone down that rabbit hole with other hobbies.
So I see two options here, either a used set of a fairly well regarded clubs or maybe new clones. I've looked online and entered his and my dimensions at a couple different retailers and it looks like we fall in the standard size standard flex basket.
There is also the mega easy button of getting a full Callaway set from Costco just shipped to my door. I literally have never bought anything from Costco I didnt like so I trust that it is a decent deal on a quality item.
So a penny for your thoughts.
