For the past few weeks, whenever I would sit outside in my stairwell and spark up a stogie there's been this cool spider that would pop out of the crack on the screen-door frame and chill in his web. I called him Harry, and he actually seemed to enjoy the smoke, as well as the stray bug that would fly into his web when I'd chase it away with the smoke from whatever I was puffing.

Yesterday I noticed an earwig in the web, but it looked like it was already dead. Harry was diligently preparing his meal last night, but alas I think the earwig was killed by the bug spray I usually spray around the door to keep the legions of crawlies at bay - I think he might have ingested a lethal dose, because he's no longer moving and he's now hanging upside down in his own web.

I like spiders, they get rid of the bugs I hate (especially the mites that love to attach themselves to my iguana), and it was cool to see one hanging out and not bothered by the smoke (I swear he liked it!)

Oh well, Rest In Peace Harry.

(and I'm only smoking cigars out here you wisearses!)

Apparently weed is cheaper than cigars!

That or he's been digesting mushrooms and going back to his childhood days when he was reading Charlotte's Web.

mmmm... shroooooms...

You can come here and collect all the spiders you want. I must have 100 of them in the garage.

Hey,
I had a pet mosquito once... Charlie. I loved him... really, I did! But he was always taking from me and never giving, so it strained our relatinoship. Finally, after taking so much from me (I was getting light-headed), I had had enough.

Ever pinch your skin while a mosquito is doing its thing? They really do explode! And the best part- no itch.

We had a memorial the following day. Feel free to send condolence cigars to me if you feel Charlie's pain.

Spiders are cool tho.. especially flattened under my boots... :whistling:

First let start by saying I am sorry to hear about your loss. I know loosing a smoking buddy can be such a heartache! And for it to have eight legs versus four or two is even double the pain.

I will say no more since you did put a disclaimer at the bottom of your post.

Well maybe this... Where you spraying the chemicals at the same time you were smoking the cigar?
