As many of you were part of the FOG beat down of 2007 :sign: . I sent out a couple of epoxy bombs three total. Well I found out from bluedragon, that the cigars were damaged do to over heating when the epoxy curred.

So I just had to re-bomb those Fog's that received the epoxy bombs.

It just did not seem right to send bad sticks no matter how they are labeled (Cory :whistling: )
So bombs away

Bluedragon: 0307 0020 0001 2269 3634-please feel free to do a review

AVB: 0307 0020 0001 2269 3603 sorry about the bad sticks

SMOKYBALLS: 0307 0020 0001 2269 3627 thanks for the sweet smokes

smokelaw1: 0307 0020 0001 2269 3610 thanks for the help.

Dude! I asked nicely for you not to do this! I got mine open finally. A good friend of mine is a detective for the Platte county sheriffs department he is also on there swat team. He's been asked to play sniper every once in a while. I gave him the block and he took it out to the range. 108 yards out with a .308 opened it up in two shots without damaging a single cigar! The epoxy did get to the un-celloed cigars but the other two were fine! The pictures of the block really don't do it any justice(the block just looks like it took a large drop and slightly shattered). This is completely unnecessary, I wish I could have told you earlier!

Now that's some funny shit right there!!! NOW I see the irony. LMAO!!! :sign: :sign: :sign:

So the package shows up today. I pull it out of the mail box and my first thought is, "OMG the heat must have totally fucked with these cigars. They smell burnt through the box." Well, come to find out that Jay sent the butt of this cigar along with another "Cuban Davidoff". It may be real, but at this point gut instinct tells me, "Yea, right." ;) Especially with the little, "please feel free to do a review" ... LOL ... now why would he say that? :p

Unfortunately, I can't seem to find my camera, else I would plunk down and do it right now. If anything, I could use a good laugh right about now. And if my gut was wrong, then a nice cigar would be just as grand. I will do a complete review as soon as I find my camera.

First impressions:
The band doesn't quite look right. The band that was on the butt of the 5000 seems to have an authentic band; it is identical to the one that I previously sent Jay, so it very well could have come off of a Dom Perignon. The embossing on the 5000 butt is evenly spaced around the entire band, even the wavy embossing lines the middle of the band perfectly. The band on the "Davidoff" sent me is off-center; a little high. Also, the font on the band is different; the Habana and Cuba are a touch narrower on the "Davidoff". Also, the line underscoring Davidoff doesn't cross completely through the FFs, as it does in the one Moki sent to Jay. The band on the "Davidoff" is also yellowed, however, that could be due to the aging process. I have seen it in many older NC Davidoffs.

But the real question in my mind, so far, is to see if it matches anything in "the bible". First off, the "Davidoff" has a pigtail cap, so that narrows it down quite a bit. Well, it narrows it down to the Davidoff No. 2, which has a pigtail, and it matches the size of the No.2 perfectly ... now I am really intrigued. And upon closer look in "the bible", the picture of the band of the No.1 also does not have a line going through the FFs. It is more difficult to tell on the picture of the No.2, but the shadow of the line in the picture I think is more a trick of the eye or lens than an actual line, because it appears to not be parallel with the rest of the line, but at a slight angle... If you sent me a real Davidoff .. I'll have to kick your ass!

The other part that has me questioning is the wrapper. It is pretty veiny and lumpy. So it is obviously hand rolled, but I would expect to see a higher quality wrapper on a Davidoff. On the one Dom Perignon I have seen the wrapper was silky smooth, very similar to what you might see on a Padron. This "Davidoff" has a wrapper that looks like it belongs on a Jose Piedra. It is very difficult to tell from the pictures in "the bible" what to expect, and as Jay noted earlier, Davidoffs were discontinued in Cuba because of a lack of quality control... hmm.. where the hell is my camera.

Well ... more to come at a later date. Stay tuned till next time on "Name that Cigar"!

Thanks Jay. No matter what it is, this will be fun.
