Reclaiming a man cave - with pictures

So I picked this weekend, the coldest of the year in Myrtle Beach, to reclaim my man cave. Over the past 6 or 7 years it had become a storage unit for anyone and everyone I know. 2 weeks ago the call went out that if it was in my garage Friday, it wouldn't be on Saturday. Bright and early Saturday morning my Lowe's guy, Ricky, loaded me up.

First order of business was to close in the lean-to area beside the garage to hold the stuff I wasn't tossing.

With that done and some of the bulky items out, I had to tackle the inside.

^ That one almost made me give up.

But I persisted and started picking through the pile.

Slowly but surely it got better.

With the help of my beautiful, if not cold fiancee. (I threw this in cause it's not fair to make you look this long without a touch of eye candy)

And finally, the finished product:

It's still a garage, mind you, so it's not bar quality, but by god, it's my home away from home. More importantly, it's my winter time, damned cold outside, relax and have a cigar hideaway. Fridge, heater, dart boards, and a stereo that still plays LP records.

Truly a space a man can be proud of.

If you've read this far, I applaud you, I can't say I would have. Luckily, I know CP is the kind of place where people appreciate the nicer things, and a man cave is one of those things!

[Yes, that is a glitter ball in the last picture]

The glitter ball shows that you are open to partying at times, now you need to fill it up with a pool table and bar.
It's better than mine because I dont have one, YET.

Nice reclamation project. I'm sure it was lots of work, but the results were well worth it.

Copngratulations. Have a cigar, iced drink and enjoy!

Dave

You need to "break it in" with a huge herf with the cigar smokers in your area. Great friends, great smokes, great times.

Nice job! It's great to have a man cave, I need to get all the projects completed and out of mine...

I'm currently forming a list of cigar smokers in my area. Myrtle Beach seems to be a tough town for cigar smokers.

Great job...you've got the makings of a truly great man cave there.

It still needs a second dart board, and some new light fixtures, but being able to see the floor again is refreshing.

I'd love to "shine" it up a bit more, but it is still a garage after all.

Where is the stripper pole?

I'll answer this two ways, and let you choose which you like:

1- The strippers I hire bring their own.

or

2- I carry the pole wherever I go. :sign:

Also, glad to see your name pop up. I like that I still recognize names here!

Inglorious. I applaud you.

That is some great progresss you did on your man cave! The possibilities are now endless when I see how much space you have. The "before" picture was crazy!

I love it! I can't do the same with my grage becuase too many cars in it, but maybe one day her kids will move out! :p

We do have a dining room that rarely gets used though. We have already talked of one day installing a bar, doors, and plenty of ventilation in there for me...one day. My ultimate goal is to build a cave in the basement which is not finished and is just home for everyones unorganized stuff.
