I have a four year old boy. I've recently been searching for books to read to him. In that search, I came across some boxes of books from my teenage years. I have always enjoyed reading, and these books are all very special to me. All fantasy Books. Sword and Sorcery and Sci Fi.
Burroughs and Robert E. Howard are two of my favorites from my early teens. My formative years. I am 50 yrs old. I decided that they are too advanced to read to my boy, but I decided to give them another whirl.
I've started with Burroughs 'Martian" Series. Book 1 of 11 "A Princess of Mars" and am thoroughly enjoying it. I'd forgotten just how talented a writer Burroughs was.
After I get through all the Burroughs books, I'll probably read through Robert E. Howard's "Conan the Barbarian"
What were your favorite reads during your formative years?
(we already know Playboy is in the list)
