It appears to be a piece of Mission style furniture. It's seems, from the photos to have a tongue and grooved solid wood back. Frame and panel constriction, and probably joined with mortise and tenon joints. It also looks like quarter sawn oak, typical of mission style. No one does that anymore. Made in the 1920's perhaps. I'd like to see it in person. I suspect it's worth a lot more than you paid.

In answer to Doc it is not that old but you are right about the construction and I was told by someone that anew piece of theis "industrial grade" would be over 10K new. As a matter of fact the new replacement they bought was double that....
