With my b-day on its way I decided to start the celebration early.
Slevy007 stopped by today to drop off some sticks from an order we shared.
We sat on my roof and he torched a very fresh Boli PC which he loved.

I put a Cohiba Siglo VI to the torch. This stick was a generous gift from my brother Charlie aka stogieman. It had a manufacture date of 9/03.
What an interesting stick! Before emoliation I checked out the beautiful roll on this bad boy. Pre-light draw was tight and slightly sour. I was hesitant to spark it up. I decided to give it a go none the less. I have got to say this was the first stick I've had that I'd describe as savory. It was salty, meaty and earthy. It definately had the cuban 'twang'. A weird experience for me but not unpleasant at all. Throughout the stick it maintained this characteristic. It burned excellently the whole way through with no touch-ups required. The last 1/4 developed flavors of wood, leather and a touch of sweetness (nuts perhaps). But that underlying salty/meatiness held on to the nub. I started smoking with a Pellegrino sparkling water. I switched to diet Dr. Pepper about halfway through. I found it matched well with this smoke.

Thanks Charlie for the opportunity to experience a cigar completely different from ANYTHING I've ever smoked before.

Stay tuned to this thread for my next cigar.
I probably burn something nice during the Lost finale tonight!

Rob enjoy your birthday! We'll have to get together and have a birthday herf in the city

We may try to get something together for next week.
I may have to go out of town... If I don't we'll herf!
Will have more of an idea later.

Hopefully you'll give me enough lead time ;)

Wednesday and Thursday are good and open for your consideration.

Today while sucking at golf I smoked a Brazilia Anaconda and a Zino Platinum.
The Brazilia was OK and the Zino was BLECH!

I do love those Boli PC's! I have a tendency to smoke slower then most... Rob smoked his entire Siglo 6 and I still have a third or more left of mine.

Did somebody say a 'HERF' in the city? :whistling: ??? Maybe I'll have to come back out to the east coast :p

Happy Birthday, Rob! Enjoy.

C'mon back!
If you can't make it I may find myself in So Cal in the near future...

Lemme know...we'll trip out on Chris...blow smoke in Murphy's face, and annoy the missus!! :D

Happy birthday, Rob!

Sounds like you're off to a good start.

But did you mean "immolate?"

Wilkey

Pre-party smoke was a Por Larranga PC from 2005.
Hard core straight forward cuban flavor.
I drank a pot of french-press coffee with it!
Mmmm mmmm!
Makes me wish I had let it sit in the humi for two years.
Perhaps a little time would have mellowed it but I enjoyed it immensely none-the-less!
At my friends graduation party I burned two Boli PCs courtesy of Tom and Tony!
It was raining but I took shelter under the porch awning.
Both were delicious!
It was a grand cigar smoking day!
I wonder what tomorrow will bring! NC or ISOM... Perhaps I will go for an AVO LE05 and a Opus Lancero... Or if my Cohiba whore bro shows up an Esplendido and Siglo IV!

-Rob

At a party yesterday I had a most excellent cigar line-up!

Opus X Lancero 2005
Vegas Robaina Famosa Thanks Seadub!
Diamond Crown Maximus TAA 2004
Hoyo de Monterey Pyramid 2003 LE
Partagas Coronas SUA JUN 2001 (Thanks to the brother who I got this from!)

What will today bring??
BBQ bound now!

Today I smoked two wonderful cigars...
First was a Cohiba Siglo II. What a wonderful little smoke. Had some tunneling issues at the end but was a minor issue. Thanks Joe aka siriusstogie!
Second smoke was a Bolivar PC I won in the ash stand contest.
Thanks Wilkey! This was a WONDERFUL smoke.

-Rob
