I'm a big fan of the CAO Brazila Series and most likely will pick up a box of these beauties. I was just tryin' to get some thoughts about them and see how many of you had the same concerns. Have you heard what the MSRP will be? Since they will be a limited edition, will the price be sky rocketing to make em' not worth the price. Post your thoughts to see what you all think..... :)

CAO Brazilia ANACONDA

• The CAO Brazilia Anaconda (8" x 58) will make its debut at next month's 72nd Annual RTDA Show in Las Vegas.

• The CAO Brazilia Anaconda will be packaged in boxes of 10 cigars per box.

• Only 7,000 boxes of CAO Brazilia Anaconda will be made!

I would venture to guess the only reason these will be limited release is because of how hard it is to find enough wrapper that size to make a full production of these. Here is the write up from CW:

Nashville, June 11, 2004: CAO, one of the worlds foremost premium cigar manufacturers, will debut the latest addition to their highly regarded CAO Brazilia line at next month's 72nd Annual RTDA Show in Las Vegas.

The new size, coined 'Anaconda', is an 8" x 58 Diadema that is a uniquely creative shape with a well-earned reputation of being one of the most difficult cigars to roll. With a select team of CAO Fabrica de Tabacos master level rollers, a limited production of 70,000 CAO Brazilia Anacondas will be produced. "Over the last three years, our Brazilia line has proven to be one of our true rock-star cigars," said CAO Vice President, Tim Ozgener. "The intent with Anaconda was to create something truly unique and rare for our CAO Brazilia fans to enjoy as a specialty cigar. Due to the level of difficulty in rolling this cigar, production and availability will be limited, however, I can assure you that the 'hunt' for the CAO Brazilia Anaconda will be well worth the effort."

The CAO Brazilia cigar line was introduced in 2001 and quickly garnered a strong following due to its robust and uniquely spicy flavor profile. The CAO Brazilia line has been rated '91' ("OUTSTANDING") according to Cigar Aficionado magazine, widely heralded as the ultimate authority on the subject of premium cigars.
My guess is it will be twice as expensive as their most expensive box of Brazilia's.

I think it would be cool to have one, but man. I doubt I'd really smoke it. Thats f'ing huge! I already have a cuaba salamones sitting in the humidor that I'm scared of. :)

It could be around the price the CAO Oddyseys were.

They say the CAO Blacks were limited to 6,000 boxes and I've been buying them for a year now on CI/Cbid. I don't think they will be that hard to find but I bet they list at over $12 ea. Retail should be about $100. JMHO.

From CA : "Tim Ozgener, C.A.O.'s vice president, explained that the Anaconda was created "for our C.A.O. Brazilia fans to enjoy as a specialty cigar." The tobacco blend of the Anaconda is the same as the rest of the Brazilia line: Nicaraguan filler and binder, and a Brazilian wrapper. Each cigar will retail for $8.50; boxes of 10 will cost $85."

Much cheaper than I would have thought.

I might have to nab a box before they're all gone. Looks to me like there won't be any price gouging.

8" long and almost an inch in diameter. Hmm, no thanks. I suspect our Ex Pres might like to have some of them if he can find some more interns...

Jokes aside I would rather spend a bit more on a box of 25 Gol instead of 10 Anacondas. I rarely have the time/interest to smoke a churchill, so I just don't see the practicality of a smoke this large.

From other comments it appears I am the minority though! :p
