The Big Noobowski
So after a pretty standard road trip down here with a few stops...
JRs - bunch of crapola but was nice to walk around smoking a cigar throughout the entire store.
South of the Border is a looking very run down and blew off some lame fireworks.
A stop in St Augustine and a drive down the A1A.
Daytona missed the better shops and stopped at a crappy B&M - it was more of a headshop with a barely decent selection of stogies.
Smoked a Monte Joyita at JRs and Cohiba 5 Maduro Secreto before leaving St Augustine.
So after battling rush hour traffic into Miami last night I spark a stoge on the boardwalk before bed.
Today I am finally out to do a little local cigar shopping.
Today I went to Mike's Cigars which is 6.5 miles from where I am staying.
What a terrific place!
Tons of stuff!
Almost anything you can imagine.
They have a sweet Fuente selection - boxes of Masterpieces, Untold Stories, King B's.
I pick up a box of VSG Enchantments and a box of Cuban Belicosos.
Then as I perused the lighters the guy was stocking a box of Anejo 46s!
Of course I ask if they got a box!
They do, actually 2!
So back go the VSGs and the King Bs and I grab the Anejos at less then one dollar a stick over MSRP.
Then, I snag a sweet Porche design lighter and lighter case.
Then came one of the greatest cigar moments of my life as a I noticed them setting up for a event.
I see a very well-dressed older gentleman in a straw hat sitting there puffing away on a stogie.
I immediately recognize him as Avo Uvezian!
He's on his cell so I patiently wait to introduce myself.
I got a bag full of Fuente products, smoking a RASS and he's still happy to talk shop with me.
He is smoking a 787 and says he can't get enough of them.
I asked if was playing a lot of piano and he still does every day.
He signed a CD for me and unfortunately I had to head back to South Beach.
I could have hung out there all day, it was pretty much just me and him and the shop employees there!
It was a wonderful experience with a true gentlemen of the cigar industry!
For any of our Miami brothers Mike's might have a loose box of 46s left... :whistling:
