Rojas Street Tacos Al Pastor - a couple months rest has made a good improvement. Cocoa, earth, cedar, cream. Cedar and mild pepper on the fairly smooth retro.

I'm still mad I ordered the 56 RG by mistake instead of the regular Toro! But the improved flavor does numb the sting a little.

The good news is that CigarPage is going to get a special run of these made in Corona Gorda at some point.

The last of my Avo cigar sampling journey, the Maduro. Disappointing. Hard as a brick, after two runs with the PerfecDraw tool it was still way too tight. OK cigar but too much work to smoke.

Of their 8 regular production smokes, I’d buy the Syncro Nicaragua Fogata by the box—if I could find a good sale. The rest I found to be good, but it’s not a $12-13 cigar IMO. Will keep my eyes peeled for Fogata deals.

I got these on a lark a while back and smoked one ROTT and was not impressed, but #2 after a couple months of tupperdore time at 67% RH and this was much better! I’m going to give some of these away in the contest forum shortly, so keep an eye on it.

‘01 SLR PC Tubos - spent its whole life en tubos - Orange Pekoe! What a perfectly wonderful tea flavor. That’s a first. Draw just a tad firm. Gotta start dry boxing when cold draw isn’t perfect. Especially out of a tubos. Pulled an Epi 2 out of a tubos yesterday and immediately in the dry box. Even stored for years at 65 still too wet. Back to our originally scheduled SLR - coffee, sweet spic3, cedar.
Retro brings smooth molasses semi sweet notes. Second third distinct clover honey. I often get honey in 20+ year old SLR especially on my favorites DC, Churchills & Lons. All sweet, sweet honey now. Love this about well aged SLR. Honey intensifies in retro. Faint cocoa. My one complaint is it’s definitely over filled. Otherwise excellent construction. The incredibly dense sweet flavors are well worth the slightly firm draw. Final,third is all honey drenched black tea. Retro simply divine now. Absolute herbal honey bomb! Last I smoked from this box was maybe 5-6 years ago. It was great but this one is leagues better. They have finally come in to their own. Age is damn slow in Tubos but the rewards are brilliant. Hour and fifteen minutes.
