Kind of sad they're not making this anymore. Everyone wants barrel aged beers now a days.

What else can be done with all those used up whiskey barrels (or once used perfectly good barrels). I hear what you're saying though.

I actually liked it, John. It surprised me how clearly the red wine flavors came through and balanced against the roasty maltiness of the imperial stout. Very unique.

Local discount liquor store guy recommended Devils Backbone, Vienna Lager. Not much of a lager drinker but I must say I was impressed.

Ended up with a pour of the sauvage to go with the cigar.

A Rogue Chocolate Stout that I waxed and put away in the beer fridge in 2009. I was worried it might not be any good with only 5.8% ABV, but wow was it excellent!! Chocolate was still very pronounced.
